(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Pop Culture Jeopardy! contestants:

Special Trivia Unit (Dun Dun), Sam & Owen
Special Trivia Unit (Dun Dun) on Pop Culture Jeopardy!
Katschke If You Can, Rick & Betsy
Katschke If You Can on Pop Culture Jeopardy!
One Baddie After Another, Jonathan & McShane (3 wins)
One Baddie After Another on Pop Culture Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

One Baddie After Another has not had to bet anything in Final Jeopardy in any of their first three games, thanks to their three runaway victories. The third member of our McShane clan to do quite well on this show (after brother Dan and cousin Sean), John McShane and teammate Jonathan Corbblah look to pick up win #4 against challenging teams Special Trivia Unit (dun dun!) and Katschke If You Can.

This 20th anniversary pack was relased by White Castle in 2024 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2004 film Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, the first film in the Harold & Kumar series of films created by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, and starring John Cho and Kal Penn as the two title characters.

(I’m proud of myself for a correct response on this one, but as someone who was in college at that time, I’m pretty sure that I was the target demographic of that film.)

Game Recap & Tonight’s Game Stats:

Here’s the recap for Season 2, Episode 4:

Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: What’s My Name Again?; SNL Characters; Multiplayer Mania; Spring Is Coming; Shakespeare Doth Pen Hit Songs; What A Disaster!)

Thanks to their going 4/5 on the video game category and picking up $4,000 on the Daily Double, things were very interesting, as our Special Trivia Unit (dun dun!) were leading this one through 30 clues. Our defending champions kept things close, though—One Baddie After Another went 3/5 on SNL characters, spring and disasters.

Today’s interviews:

Special Trivia Unit (Dun Dun) met each other on Hinge; they are both massive Lisa Vanderpump fans.
Katschke If You Can are a brother and sister.
One Baddie After Another is afraid McShane’s brother and cousin might have some regular-to-pop culture Jeopardy snobbery.

Statistics after the Jeopardy round:

Special Trivia Unit (Dun Dun) 10 correct 1 incorrect
One Baddie After Another 11 correct 0 incorrect
Katschke If You Can 5 correct 1 incorrect

Scores after the Jeopardy! Round:

Special Trivia Unit (Dun Dun) 9,000
One Baddie After Another 7,400
Katschke If You Can 1,000

Double Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: Songs Named For Places; Movie Taglines; Born In The ’00s; Big On BookTok; Tahk Like Mahk Wahlberg; Genres)

By the end of this round, all three teams had been correct on a Daily Double. However, this round belonged to One Baddie After Another. They went 4/5 in movie taglines and 3/5 in genres, born in the ’00s, and songs named for places, while Sam & Owen only went 3/5 in BookTok in response, as they picked up runaway #4 in 4 games.

Statistics after Double Jeopardy:

One Baddie After Another 26 correct 1 incorrect
Special Trivia Unit (Dun Dun) 16 correct 1 incorrect
Katschke If You Can 9 correct 1 incorrect

Scores going into Final:

One Baddie After Another 28,400
Special Trivia Unit (Dun Dun) 13,400
Katschke If You Can 5,700

This Final Jeopardy turned out to be a Triple Stumper—as One Baddie After Another made an RTFQ error (I added the extra letter because PCJ is rated TV-14) and gave the film title instead. No matter, though, as their runaway makes them a 4-time champion.

Tonight’s results:

Katschke If You Can 5,700 – 1,895 = 3,805 (What is Applebees? Hi Jay, Lucie + Richie)
Special Trivia Unit (Dun Dun) 13,400 – 13,000 = 400 (What is Chili’s yum! Hi Liz!)
One Baddie After Another 28,400 – 0 = 28,400 (What is Harold & Kumar go to White Castle? Hi Mimi + Coco!) (Winner)

Current Overall Standings:

  1. One Baddie After Another: 4 wins, 110,900 points

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • I hate to say it, but I did think both challenging teams did need to go all in on their respective Daily Doubles (and it would have prevented a runaway today had Special Trivia Unit done so.
  • Wagering suggestions are not posted due to today’s game being a runaway.

Ditto Jamie Ding’s run on Jeopardy!

  2. Nice work Rick and Betsy, you just rant into a juggernaut!
