Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

After three weeks of quarterfinals, the first of three semifinals air tonight in the million-dollar primetime Celebrity Jeopardy! tournament. Simu Liu started things off with a massive upset victory over Andy Richter, while both Iliza Shlesinger and Ike Barinholtz both dominated on the signaling device en route to victory in their respective quarterfinals. However, the significant difference between Barinholtz and Shlesinger is in the incorrect response statistics: Shlesinger picked up over a dozen in her quarterfinal, whereas Barinholtz picked up zero. If this holds, and Barinholtz cleans up on the rebounds, “The Mindy Project” star will likely find his way to the final in January. However, as Liu proved three Sundays ago, anything can happen up on that Alex Trebek stage, and all three players are certainly in with a shot at winning tonight!

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they can, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Ike and Simu dominated the signaling device over the opening 15 clues, with Ike jumping out to an early lead.
