Warning: This page may contain spoilers for the January 9, 2024 game of Jeopardy! UK, especially for those of you watching delayed or on-demand. This page will be updated during each commercial break as the show airs.
Today’s contestants:
Richard Clark, an I.T. service architect from Penarth
Sabina Crouch, a copywriter from Milton Keynes
Keshava Guha, a writer from London (3-day total: £14,650)
Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:
Keshava Guha just keeps winning; his last two victories have been in runaway fashion and has already picked up £14,650 in three victories on the programme.
Today’s challengers are Sabina Crouch from Milton Keynes, and Welshman Richard Clark. Neither challenger has recent OQL experience, so it’s a little bit more difficult to get a read on how today’s match might go!
It also seems that a lot of the recent online criticism of the show is coming from viewers who aren’t British; it might be prudent to remind everyone that if you’re not British, this show isn’t being made for you, and you mean nothing to the advertising dollars that support the show. The entitlement of people thinking that every single piece of media needs to be made for them is appalling, in my opinion, and it’s an entitlement that needs to cease forthwith.
Another reminder that I have started a Sunday mailbag column where I answer fan & viewer questions regarding the show. If you have a question, feel free to send it to mailbag@thejeopardyfan.com!

Andy’s Thoughts:
It should be noted that Jeopardy! rules in the United States allow “overfull” song titles to be accepted as correct, provided the extra lyrics added to the title are correct. (Thus “Hit Me Baby One More Time” is considered equivalently correct to “…Baby One More Time”). It is clear that the UK production is following those same rules.
Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: Richard £4,850 Keshava £3,950 Sabina £1,225)
Keshava: Bet between £901 (passing Richard’s total by £1) and £1,499 (keeping Sabina locked out). (Actual bet: £901)
Sabina: Bet at least £575 to pass Richard if he bets to cover and is incorrect. (Actual bet: £1,224)
Richard: Standard cover bet is £3,051. (Actual bet: £4,850)
