Michael Crichton’s bestselling novel, Jurassic Park, had its film rights purchased by Universal Studios before the book had even been published. The book was very successful, as was the 1993 Steven Spielberg film adaptation, which has since led to three film sequels and one novel sequel, The Lost World.
The novel depicts a collapsing amusement park that showcased genetically-recreated dinosaurs.
