Another week of Jeopardy! begins; this one will be the final week of regular play before the Second Chance Tournament and the 30th Tournament of Champions. Cris Pannullo cemented his place in the 31st Tournament of Champions with his play last week; will Cris win game #7? Today’s challengers are Eugene Hahm and Allie Nudelman.

Meanwhile, if you missed last night’s Celebrity Jeopardy, it is available on demand or on Hulu. If you haven’t, I think that it’s not a stretch of the imagination to think that Ike Barinholtz would have been able to pass the Anytime Test and would have been a reasonable player on the civilian version of the program! At this point, he has to be the favorite to win next Sunday’s first semifinal. I also have to say that I’m disappointed that Andy Richter lost—a match between Richter and Barinholtz would have been epic.

In 1928, the Fremont Canning Company was looking for a new face to advertise its new product—strained and canned baby food. Daniel and Dorothy Gerber had an ill baby daughter; their pediatrician suggested specially prepared food; Dorothy suggested that Fremont begin mass producing this food after it was successful with their daughter. Many drawings were submitted to be the “face” of the company’s ad campaign for the new product; an unfinished charcoal sketch of Ann Turner Cook, drawn by Dorothy Hope Smith, won the contest.
