Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category The Movies) for Thursday, June 29, 2023 (Season 39, Game 209):

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Tenysa Santiago, an American Sign Language & English interpreter from Berkeley, California

Alicia Korenman on Jeopardy!

Bryan White, a senior regulatory compliance analyst originally from Santa Maria, California (1-day total: $20,130)

Bryan White on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

After a very strong performance yesterday, Bryan White is your new Jeopardy! champion. Today’s challengers are Durham’s Alicia Korenman and Berkeley’s Tenysa Santiago.

Over the next few days, you might notice some minor cosmetic changes coming to the website; I’ve also come to the realization that nobody ever complained about the old font, which makes it quite likely that things will revert to how they were in the font department. I’m expecting that any changes to the site will hopefully be complete by July 1.

(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2023 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)

Beatrice Wood was never on the Titanic. She was born in San Francisco in 1893 and was involved with Marcel Duchamp both artistically and romantically. Her autobiography, I Shock Myself, ended up in the hands of James Cameron, via Bill Paxton’s wife, and Cameron realized the similarities between the character of Rose DeWitt Bukater in Titanic, which Cameron was writing at that point. Cameron went as far as to obtain permission to interview Wood and use her as the model for Rose, despite Wood’s lack of connection to the ship.
