Jane Goodall, not finding many female scientists to serve as an inspiration, instead had to be inspired by fictional stories. One of those stories ended up being Hugh Lofting’s The Story of Doctor Dolittle, where the title doctor was sent to Africa to handle an epidemic in monkeys.

After doubling his score just before the break with the first Daily Double, Steven Hoying picked up another $11,000 from the two Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy to put to rest any hope that Andrew Hayes had of continuing his run, then punctuating his game with a correct response in Final Jeopardy.

Truth be told, though, in looking at the numbers—and no disrespect intended towards Ian Morrison here, who is an excellent person–I still can not understand why Steven was not selected for Champions Wildcard by the show, and Ian was.
