Esprit Top 3, Sam, Hans, and Erin
Esprit Top 3 on Pop Culture Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Episode 3 features 9 players who are all main-show alumni—and Colin certainly leaned into that fact in the opening! And, proving just how tight-knit the alumni community is, the Esprit Top 3 (the three finalists from a past College Championship) were the only ones who had played against each other in the past.

3 Comments on "Pop Culture Jeopardy Recap – Wednesday, December 4, 2024 (Episode 3)"

  1. I thought I knew that George Clooney had directed himself, and, thought I recognized that he’d portrayed a proffessor, and, a physchitrist, so why not a “sanitation worker”? Obviously since Denzel Washington was the correct response, Clooney may have had roles in at least some of those occupations, may have directed himself in those, but not all three.
All oo which means I’m 0 for the first week of Pop Culture Jeopardy.

  2. Would anyone mind explaining the rules for the Triple Play clues in detail? [probably requiring examples] Because the first team to buzz in may get one or two correct then be wrong or run out of time, but then another team can try for remaining responses (one or two) and be correct and/or wrong or run out of time and the third team may even try, I am not clear on who gets points (and how many per correct response) nor who gets points subtracted [or do they, as I didn’t catch any declining points?] And if points are subtracted (presumably), are they subtracted the same regardless of whether an incorrect response was given or time ran out? I am assuming that if one team gets all three responses correct they get 3 times the number of points for that clue’s location on the board, but I cannot say that for sure because no team got all 3 correct.

So, anyway, I feel like this seems like a dumb question since for streaming one can re-watch, pause to take notes, or whatever, but I find it very hard to control streaming “rewind” and hate having to watch a larger portion over and over to catch/confirm what I first saw and heard over a matter of seconds.

Probably there is even a place on an official Jeopardy! website that explains all the rules in detail, but I didn’t find it, so just being provided a specific link would be a help.
