Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Week Six of Pop Culture Jeopardy, as we get closer to the midway point of the series, opens with a match featuring three teams of at least partial alumni: “40 Years Late For Detention” is a team of Texans, the second in as many weeks from Austin’s massive trivia scene if I’m not mistaken, with Ron, who has now been on two spinoffs as well as the regular series. “Sears Siblings” features Connor Sears, who won two games in 2023 before losing in Yogesh Raut’s debut, while “‘Nother Scorcher” went viral for a preview that was posted where Greer and Sarah admitted they got married after meeting—and playing against each other in the quarterfinals—at the 2012 College Championship. (Greer won that matchup.)

The Hans Zimmer score to Christopher Nolan’s 2010 film Inception, with a Zimmer-described electronic motif, fit in with Nolan’s overall “dream” theme of the film. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a professional thief who operates by infiltrating the subconscious of his targets, effectively stealing their dreams.

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • I feel as though a lot of incorrect responses in the COZY GAMER category could have been avoided by taking the category top-to-bottom instead of bottom-to-top.
  • Today’s box score will be linked to when posted by the show.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:

(Scores: ‘Nother Scorcher 21,600 Sears Siblings 13,800 40 Years Late For Detention 800)

40 Years Late For Detention: Bet whatever you like here—you can’t win unless you get a pair of significant overbets. (Actual bet: 799)

Sears Siblings: You have to bet at least 1,800 to have any chance of victory. After that, I’d probably limit my bet to 12,199, just to guarantee second place, even though there’s no monetary difference between second and third. (Actual bet: 7,801)

‘Nother Scorcher: Standard cover bet is 6,001. (Actual bet: 6,001)
