Lisa Ann’s quarterfinal: October 4, 2023

-->

Overall Thoughts: I think this is actually the most interesting of the three semifinals. This could be a very closely contested three-way battle. Lisa Ann has the most net attempts out of any of this season’s semifinalists (in calculating net attempts, I subtract any incorrect responses from the attempt count from each game’s respective box score), but she also has the lowest success rate on the signaling device, by over 10%, of any of the semifinalists. If her signaling device timing comes around, Lisa Ann will take this handily, as she has the widest knowledge base of any of the three players. However, if not, any of these three players could end up in the final.

Katie Nolan

37 correct, 5 incorrect
7/8 on rebound attempts (on 13 rebound opportunities)
35.29% in first on buzzer (30/85)
2/4 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: -$1,000)
1/1 in Final Jeopardy

Katie’s quarterfinal: October 11, 2023

Dulé Hill

25 correct, 7 incorrect
3/5 on rebound attempts (on 12 rebound opportunities)
28.57% in first on buzzer (24/84)
2/2 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $900)
1/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $9,600

Dulé’s quarterfinal: November 1, 2023

-->

Overall Thoughts: While Dulé did have the best stats on the signaling device in the opening round of our semifinalists, his attempt numbers were significantly lower. Thus, I believe that this is going to be a very close battle between Steven and Katie. I do remember Katie being very nervous in her quarterfinal; if she can overcome that (and having played already may help that), I think she has a very good chance to advance. I’m expecting this to be a great game, though!

Tuesday, January 16, 2023:

Mo Rocca

60 correct, 5 incorrect
6/7 on rebound attempts (on 15 rebound opportunities)
39.26% in first on buzzer (53/135)
5/5 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $19,800)
1/2 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $18,850

Mo’s quarterfinal: December 6, 2023

Heather McMahan

28 correct, 3 incorrect
1/1 on rebound attempts (on 5 rebound opportunities)
32.14% in first on buzzer (27/84)
2/2 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $1,900)
1/1 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $15,400

Heather’s quarterfinal: November 29, 2023

-->

Overall Thoughts: Much like the quarterfinals, I do think Mo is the favorite to win this one; even though he was only 57% on the signaling device, he does have 64 net attempts (second only to Lisa Ann Walter of the nine semifinalists). He also has shown a willingness to make aggressive Daily Double bets. I would predict Mo to win about 50-55% of the time, Rachel to win about 30% of the time, and Heather 15-20% of the time.
