Andy back with another recap!
Rachel Gordon and David Moore are the two challengers for J Tarter-Fox, who won $33,300 yesterday!

IT’S GETTING HOT IN HERE
ALASKAN AQUATIC LIFE
Our contestants dove straight into HISTORY; David and J split the first four. But the Daily Double was clue number 5 and David got to play it! Scores were:
David $1,200
J $800
Rachel $0
David made it a True Daily Double; his clue: He redesigned more than 50 of the 87 churches lost in London’s Great Fire. His correct response put him at $2,400!
All 3 contestants got in on the act before the first break, Rachel and David pickup up 3, and J picking up 4. Scores were:
David $4,400
J $2,800
Rachel $1,200
After seeing ALASKAN AQUATIC LIFE being all-video, I’m surprised no Daily Double was in there! I’m also surprised we got through all 30 clues, even with HOW ‘BOUT THEM DODGERS being last! Yes, I did get $800 (Nicknamed “Mr. Clean”, this Dodger first baseman made 8 straight all-star teams from 1974 to 1981) and $1000 (This closer with a record for consecutive saves hurt his eye playing hockey, hence the specs)
J got 11 of the 15 clues after the break, leading to scores of:
J $9,000
David $4,000
Rachel $1,800
DJ! round categories:
THE 5 “W”s
NEWSPAPERS

FLAVOR OF THE MONTH

JANE AUSTEN IN POP CULTURE
FLAVOR OF THE MONTH $1600 had the Daily Double, and it went to David! Scores were:
J $9,800
David $5,200
Rachel $2,200
David bet just $2,000. His clue: The most infamous event of 44 B.C. occurred on this day. David’s correct response put him at $7,200!
As we moved through the Double Jeopardy! round, the final Daily Double stayed hidden; David got himself into the lead, though, picking up 10 correct responses, to J’s 9 and Rachel’s 2!
NEWSPAPERS $1200 had the last Daily Double. A $2000, $400, and $800 clue were left to play, and the clue went to J. The scores were:
David $20,400
J $20,200
Rachel $4,200
J bet just $200. His clue: The “ticker” was announced in the Feb. 26, 1897 issue of this publication. J misspoke, calling it the Wall Street Times, and did not get a chance to correct himself before Alex ruled it incorrect. His score fell to $20,000.
Rachel picked up the $2,000 clue (Call 303-893-TIPS to reach an investigative reporter at this Post). I slipped up on this clue, I know what city is served by area code 303 and still said Washington. Whoops! David picked up the $400 and $800 clues.
Scores going into Final:
David $21,600
J $20,000
Rachel $6,200
FJ! category: NOTABLE NAMES
FJ! clue: In August 2012 the Telegraph of London ran the headline “Paralympics 2012:” he “opens ceremony with a ‘Big Bang”
Rachel 6200 + 1200 = 7400
J 20000 – 19999 = 1
David 21600 – 18401 = 3199
I can’t make heads or tails of J’s wager; it is the only reason that Rachel won the game! I wonder how long his run would have gone otherwise; he was an excellent player!
Rachel is the new champion; she’ll be back tomorrow to defend!
