J! round categories: ALL AROUND LONDON; MUPPET NEWS; BAKING 3s; THE SUPER BOWL; JULIA; THROW THE “BOOK” AT ‘EM!
This was another game where the opening break came after 13. Ken happened to knock off 10 in a row before the break (clues 4 through 13), causing the show to take another early break. Coming out, at least Ken was given a little bit of a game! He only picked up 17 correct responses in the Jeopardy! round, and Bret got to play the Daily Double. Holding $2,200, though, Bret only elected to bet $800. Alex Jacob would have pulled his hair out.
Ken went 5/5 in MUPPET NEWS, 4/5 in JULIA, and 3/5 in ALL AROUND LONDON and THROW THE “BOOK” AT ‘EM!
DJ! round categories: INSECTS; BEN & JENNIFER FILMS; YOU AUTO KNOW THIS; THE VIETNAM ERA; POTPOURRI; SOFT “C”
This seemed like a pretty tame Double Jeopardy! round for Ken, in the respect that he only picked up 16 correct. He did get both Daily Doubles, though, which probably helped keep his opponents at bay. He did have another runaway, though, his 8th consecutive and 11th in 13 games!
Ken went 4/5 in INSECTS and VIETNAM and 3/5 IN BENNIFER FILMS and POTPOURRI.
Scores going into Final Jeopardy:
Ken $27,000
Bret $9,800
Ellen $7,000
Final Jeopardy! category: THE 16th CENTURY
Final Jeopardy! clue: In 1582 the man born Ugo Buoncompagni proclaimed this solar dating system still used today
What is the Gregorian calendar?
Ellen 7000 – 2800 = 4200 (What is I want my $2!)
Bret 9800 + 4200 = 14800
Ken 27000 + 3000 = 30000 (13-day total: $440,158)
Over this taping day, Ken’s 5-game total: $153,200.

In this interview, Ken talked about his most recent at the time Halloween costume:
Ken: Well, last Halloween, I tried to think of some fun, friendly costume. So, I went as a street mime. ‘Cause everyone likes mimes, right?
Alex: Yeah.
Ken: And it turned out this little kid just stared at me all night and just burst into tears every time I would do anything. And as we were leaving the party, the boy’s dad says to him, “Son, if you’re bad, he’s gonna come live in your closet.”
