Six years ago my husband and a friend got tickets for this tournament. For lunch my husband got a chicken sandwich, bag of chips, soft drink & an ice cream bar. It cost $3.50 only. Augusta National feels fans shouldn’t pay much for food.
I’ve heard that before myself, but I wouldn’t have thought to share that. Thank you!
One answer was “What is Grand Central Station”. It is NOT GCS. It is Grand Central TERMINAL. Grand Central Station is the subway stop under GST.
You misunderstood the clue.
The clue was about the generic term “Grand Central Station”, which refers to any busy place, which happens to get its name from the building once known as Grand Central Station but is now Grand Central Terminal.
There was nothing wrong with the clue.
Scott McFadden answered “what is a cure” and it should have been “what is the cure”
That doesn’t matter.
The show’s leading article rule provides for any article (or none whatsoever) to precede a correct response without penalty.
So, The Cure, A Cure, or Cure are all equally acceptable as per the rules of the show.
Does that go for titles too? Would they accept “The Chorus Line” for the Broadway musical? I would hope not.
Unless there’s a separate musical called “The Chorus Line” or “Chorus Line”, they would both be acceptable, per the rules.
That sound you hear is Michael Bennett and Marvin Hamlisch turning in their graves.
This is referring to Jim G.’s comment about certain people “turning over in their graves”: Robert Smith too, and he is not even dead!!
He makes some bizarre choices as far as places where he likes to relax…
“A” Cure?? Who says that when referring to a rock group?? Hard to believe he would have said “a” Who?? He must have had a serious brain f_rt…Btw, JETHRO TULL is currently hands-down the most notorious RRHOF (I have other names for this institution) snub (and there is no question of IMHO!)
If you want your husband to have another chance at Masters tickets DO NOT call those who attend the tournament “fans”–Augusta National INSISTS that they be called “patrons!” Seriously, a popular CBS golf announcer was “dismissed” from future Masters broadcasts when he made that mistake…(Actually, I think the term he used was “mob” when he was describing a surging crowd of Masters “patrons”…)
It was Gary McCord who is banned for life because he said the greens were as slick as bikini wax. He was immediately escorted from the course.
Yes, I just figured most people on here wouldn’t know Gary McCord from Brandel Chamblee…And as I mentioned he also called a large group of “patrons” a “mob”–maybe the finest hour ever IMO of a golf commentator, given the context…I have to check if that is on Youtube…
