You can find Roger Ebert’s full review of the 1982 Spielberg classic here. Note that Ebert, in his review, shortens the film’s title to just E.T.; in case that happens to rankle the small subset of viewers who want to insist on full titles always.

According to Ebert, it’s “a movie of surprises”, and still, over 30 years later, it’s still Spielberg’s highest-grossing film as a director (per Box Office Mojo).

  1. i got it (barely… might not have IRL on show).. no idea how as i never watch movies and never seen this one. i guess i just focused on the “no dry eye at the end”, which somehow i knew.

  2. It does appear that the American’s need their half-price televisions. Certainly not worthy of lining up in a crowd or getting in a physical fight over one…
