Correct response: Who is Tony Blair?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
I’m not sure why the Jeopardy! writers thought this was a good subject for a Final Jeopardy!; but hey, it’s their show. I mean, the clue is written properly, and it pins to the correct answer, but this clue seems to be lacking any sort of tease-out metric”, especially for an American audience.
And yes, it pins to the correct answer. While Tony Blair was born May 6, 1953, Queen Elizabeth II became queen when her father died in 1952, even though her coronation took place June 2, 1953.
When I first encountered this clue as New York Times Clue of the Day, I was hoping that this clue was going to be a $2,000 Daily Double, that Cameron, Brown, and Major were earlier clues in the category, and the writers were trying to reward taking a category from top-to-bottom. But, alas, this is Final Jeopardy!.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- After yesterday’s clunker in the closed captions, I didn’t think we could top it, but xi instead of pi on the third clue of the game is absolutely inexcusable.
- Kudos to both of our players in Final for getting that one correct.
- Today was the first 0-for-3 on the Daily Doubles since December 26, and today had the worst Daily Double Efficiency since October 24.
- Good on all 3 players for staying in POTENT POE TALES until the Daily Double was found. It’s too bad it didn’t work out for Rachel, but at least she can call herself a Jeopardy! champion; a title nobody can take away from her.
- Effective in first on buzzer percentages: Aaron 42.00% (21/50), Nancy 38.00% (19/50), Rachel 20.00% (10/50)

And what’s the result of the third DD? Doesn’t say who found it or how much was bet!!
Should be corrected now. Thank you!
Very disappointed episode. Three wrong answers on the daily double resulted a shutout and the clues were evil to Rachel. Let’s hope tomorrow’s episode will be much better.
So did Rachel not make it to Final J!?
Yo, what I miss? Whered the other lady go to?
I can say the same thing to you but I know it’s kind of hard to tell that Rachel is the second returning champion this season after Dylan Gallard and the first female returning champ this season to bust before Final J!. What more can I say about this?
i agree it’s not a great FJ…. it’s simply an arbitrary guess (major, cameron or blair) for me.
