More information about Final Jeopardy:

The Last Supper, painted by Leonardo da Vinci in the late 1400s, is a mural located in Milan’s Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Unfortunately, due to its having been located on a thin exterior wall, it began to deteriorate almost immediately due to the effects of humidity. It was almost unrecognizable by 1652 when a door was built as mentioned in the clue. Minor restorations took place through the centuries, but it took until the late 20th century before a major restoration was able to happen, as guided by Pinin Brabilla Barcilon.

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • This feels like a theme: Players underbet Daily Doubles and overbet Final Jeopardy. Considering the situation, I thought that Hope severely underbet the final Daily Double — of course, she ended up $400 short of the lead going into Final Jeopardy!.
  • Effective in first on buzzer stats: Dana 35.29% (18/51), Hope 23.53% (12/51), Kristin 41.18% (21/51).

  1. As soon as Hope made that bet, I knew she would lose and said so to my girlfriend! Andy, I couldn’t agree more with your comment about underbetting Daily Doubles.

  2. It amazes me that such iconic work of art was so poorly taken care of for centuries.
