Correct response: What are “Rosebud” and “Plastics”?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
“Rosebud” is famous from 1941’s Citizen Kane, as they are the last words of the title character. “Plastics” comes from 1967’s The Graduate; on its surface, it was a well-meaning piece of investment advice from Mr. McGuire, but it has been analyzed into more.
One other note: With Thanksgiving coming up, the show does still have episodes scheduled to air the remainder of this week (And, every weekday of the 46-week season.)

I got one of the two. Didn’t get ‘Plastics’. I guessed ‘Stella’.
Good guess though. AFI has it as “Stella! Hey, Stella! at #45.
I thought “plastic.” Would that be accepted? I’m guessing not, for leaving out the s.
Plastic for me as well, costing me an immediate solve as there was no doubt about the movies.
My feeling is that nobody will get both. THIS is what I call a tough FJ.
Well, just as I thought. Out of 6 right (3×2) words we got ONE. Good thing though that the winner came closest. So congrats to Ellen and the countdown starts again…..

And yes, I totally agree it was a brutal FJ. Compared to today, yesterday’s was child’s play (Still a TS as well..)
I thought it was brutal. I came up with both, but after almost a minute.
I didn’t think it was that brutal, and I’m not even a movie aficionado. The dates really helped. When I saw them, Graduate and Citizen Kane really popped in my head. But again, if the “s” is required for “plastics,” that is brutal.
I would say that “yes, the S is required”, as the quote isn’t “Plastic”.

Not brutal for me, but I think I put the “fanatical” in classic movies “fan”, and I love lists, so I’d read read it before! It’s an interesting list, with quotes from Titanic at #100 to Gone with the Wind at #1.

Yes, though yesterday should not have been a TS.”New Deal” is a catchphrase, even younger people know that expression , linked to one of the greatest – if not the greatest POTUS, FDR. Today was not just brutal, that FJ clue was outright mean!
Yes, I think it was brutal. Tough to come up with both in 30 seconds. I definitely think rosebud was the easier of the two. I thought Ellen might get it based on her success with other movie related clues. Ben must have been thinking about the movie Patton when he said “Nuts.” Not a bad guess. I guessed Hal, from 2001 A Space Odyssey for the second one, because I had no clue what the 1967 one might be.
Did anyone catch who it was who “was so dashing that the queen allowed him to kiss her cheek instead of hand?” Everyone spoke over the answer here and I didn’t catch it
The clue: Revolutionary War hero Joshua Barney was so dashing that in France in 1782, this queen let him kiss her cheek instead of her hand

I got Rosebud right away. Took me a few minutes, but I did come up with Plastics.
