Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Movie Quotes) for Tuesday, November 16, 2021 (Season 38, Game 47):
This 3-word phrase was the protagonist’s second line of dialogue in a 1962 movie, the first in a 25-film series
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s contestants:
Rebecca Clark, an administrative assistant & theatre director from Santa Cruz, California![]() |
Michael Guarnieri, a film critic & conflicts analyst from Louisville, Kentucky![]() |
Andrew He, a software developer from San Francisco, California (4-day total: $137,502)![]() |
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: Andrew He goes for his all-important 5th win today after surviving a big scare yesterday from Molly Karol. Interestingly, only 23 players in the 37-plus-year history of the show have won $150,000 (or $75,000 pre-doubled) over their first five games; Andrew is only $12,498 from joining that list.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to. When wearing a mask, ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

I’ve only seen the Bond movies with Sean Connery in them.
You should check out the Bond movies with Daniel Craig -especially “Casino Royale”
That’s an easy FJ
I suspect that a contestant might get tripped up by knowing the quote but getting the actual wording wrong.
Just the fact of a series of movies that long narrows the possibilities pretty darn quickly.
That’s how I got it.
I’m guessing a film critical like Michael will smile when he sees the category. Sometimes things just fall your way.
Easy I think. Pop culture generally is my weakest and I would have gotten it.
Bond James bond. I have seen and heard this phrase uttered many times by various bond actors like Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. Very easy final jeopardy.
Somewhere Molly is thinking, “why didn’t they have that final jeopardy one game earlier”
Andrew’s topping $150k in 5 games is a big deal; checked and saw Matt Amodio “only” had $147,800 in 5. If memory serves correct, the last two previous over $150k in 5 were also the last two TOC winners, Sam Kavanaugh and James Holzhauer!
Another unprecedented and amazing accomplishment is Andrew is now the 4th TOC qualifier out of the last 8 champions.
Incidentally, the runner-up in the last TOC (Jennifer Quail) just missed the $150k mark, with $149,500!
James Bond’s first line is “I admire your courage, miss.” Not quite so iconic.
The next ToC is shaping up to be a classic. I hope John Focht doesn’t get squeezed out.
Agree. Hope the producers close it with him part of the final 15.
Do you think Andrew was joking with his answer?
1337=leet. Probably a joke.
Andrew is beating some solid challengers. Agree that next ToC will be a doozy. Andrew would be a nightmare opponent for Matt with his true daily doubles.
$1337 bet lol
Fun fact: Patrick McGoohan was first offered the Bond role, but turned it down and recommended his colleague Sean Connery. This line of dialogue is a direct allusion to McGoohan’s self-intro in Season 1 of “Danger Man”: “My name is Drake. John Drake.”
