#SHC2012 Week 3, Day 5

Andy here again with Week 3, Day 5 of the SHC! Not much to contribute this evening other than the questions (once again thanks to Dad of Twins), answers, and scores!

OH #@$&!

2: Place this punctuation mark between the name of two sports teams to indicate that the host team for their contest is the one on the right.
4: Musical meaning of the punctuation mark used on Twitter to signify a “hashtag.”
6: Mathematical function called for by the punctuation mark at the end of the titles of the musicals Oklahoma and Oliver.
8: Aside from the quotation mark, this mark is the most-often-used piece of punctuation in the titles of Jeopardy categories.
10: This punctuation mark was used to define string variables in BASIC computer programming.

GRAMMY-WINNING ROCK BANDS

3: The first Grammy for Best Rock Album was not presented until 1995, when this band won for “Voodoo Lounge.”
6: This Irish band has won Best Rock Album twice, most recently for “How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.”
9: This band set a record by winning its fourth Best Rock Album Grammy in 2012, for “Wasting Light.”
12: The first artist to win two Best Rock Album Grammys was this former Michael Jackson backup singer whose “If It Makes You Happy” was that year’s Best Female Rock Vocal.
15: This album, the first recorded by E Street Band in 18 years, contained Bruce Springsteen’s reflections on the September 11 attacks.

I noticed that the five punctuation marks in the first category name matched up with the five answers in that category; that was quite helpful to me! Between that and a strong category in GRAMMY-WINNING ROCK BANDS, I had one of my best days in the SHC!
