Coming up this weekend, we’ll get Kaya Chua’s audience thoughts on the finals, as well as a #JeopardyLivePanel at 8:05 PM Eastern on Sunday night!
Here we go, Day 2 of the Finals! Will we see fireworks today, or will today’s game just be a coronation of Alex Jacob? We’ll know very soon!
Today’s contestants:
Kerry Greene ($3,400 yesterday) | Alex Jacob ($29,600 yesterday) | Matt Jackson ($3,000 yesterday) |
Alex found two of the three Daily Doubles, which was really all he needed to ensure he completely dominated this tournament. I thought that considering the situation, it was a little risky to go True Daily Double on the first one, but he managed to pull it out (the number of miles one lap of the Daytona 500 is). His second, he bet just $1,000 on – forcing Matt to bet all $10,000 he had on the final Daily Double: Overseeing the FDA is one job of this cabinet department. Matt said the Department of Agriculture (it was Health & Human Services) and that was pretty much the tournament in Alex’s favor. There was still second place to play for, and Matt did get enough $ going into Final to guarantee his $100,000, assuming he didn’t make a $50,000 betting error! Kerry fought very gamely, and there was a time where I thought that she might be able to sneak in and take 2nd, but alas it was not to be!
Scores going into Final Jeopardy!:
Alex $18,700
Matt $7,200
Kerry $3,200
Final Jeopardy! category: PHILOSOPHERS
Final Jeopardy! clue: His last name means a type of burial place and in 1855 that’s where he went
Kerry 3200 + 1500 = 4700 + 3400 = 8100
Matt 7200 – 0 = 7200 + 3000 = 10200
Alex 29600 – 0 = 29600 + 18700 = 48300
