More information about Final Jeopardy:
Katherine Johnson, one of the inspirations of the movie Hidden Figures, was one of NASA’s mathematicians who worked to help America beat the USSR in the Space Race. One noteworthy occurrence was during John Glenn’s Friendship 7 orbital mission, where John Glenn wasn’t as trusting of the computers, and insisted that Johnson check the numbers run by the computer, saying “If she says they’re good, then I’m ready to go”. Glenn’s flight was a success.
Barack Obama awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015, and the year after Hidden Figures was released, NASA named a Computational Building at Langley Research Center in her honor.
Margot Lee Shetterly (the author of the Hidden Figures book) wrote Johnson’s NASA biography.

Because the correct solution can come via multiple areas of useful knowledge (recent films, US Government, notable people in civil rights), my feeling is that this is a fairly easy Final Jeopardy, with a good chance for the contestants to go 3/3 correct.
Could also be NAACP and with all the “alphabet soup” organizations I’m going with 2. Somebody may screw up. I am not such a big fan for extreme predictions like 0/3 or 3/3.We’ll see.
I concur. She’s had a lot of well deserved press lately and you’d have to be living in a cave on Mars not to know the answer… and even Elon Musk would know it!
Emily is moving up from a 25.30% chance to win today’s game all the way up to 28.90% tomorrow. The players are 9/11 on FJ! clues this week. I would look for a tougher one tomorrow to get the hit rate down to a more typical level.
Nice payday,Emily!! Congratulations!! Shannan’s wager?? I’d rather go for a tiebreaker than take a chance that the other will get it wrong.4.999 is kind of a mystery..???
If Shannan had missed she would have dropped to 6801. If Alex had bet everything he would have had 6800. Shannan insured herself second place.
Yes, when she could have had a tie and a 50.50 chance to win….. Don’t you play to WIN the game????
Note to Andy: typo misspelling in explanation section; there are two r’s in occurrence.
Thank you!
Wow, three days in a row the leader (or co-leader in today’s case) gets FJ! correct, but fails to advance due to low (or no) wagering. That’s gotta be some sort of a record.
It is and one I never thought could/would happen. Once in a blue moon (we have a blue moon in March….), but THREE times in a row?
Newton discovered the spectrum of white light contains 6 basic colours: Violet Blue Green Yellow Orange Red

Alex Lopinto was correct.
The Royal Society appears to agree with the show that the correct response is seven.
I continue to be mystified by the FJ wagering this week. You need guts and confidence to be a champion and this week has proved it over and over.
So true. Getting on Jeopardy! seems to me a once in a lifetime opportunity…leave it all on the table and let the chips fall where they may. (That does seem like an awful lot of cliches in one sentence, but it is how I feel..sometimes they fit.)
Mark:
You’re allowed to be mystified by the wagering, but inquiring as to motives of contestants and why they bother to go on the show is too far. Many contestants have stated that on #JeopardyLivePanel that they’re absolutely playing to win, but often the pressure of the lights make them do things that they otherwise wouldn’t under more normal circumstances.
Could’ve been ARPA/DARPA. I’m a computer guy 🙂
