Correct response: What is Perth?

Did you know that you can now find game-by-game stats of everyone, including Austin Rogers, who has won 10 or more games on Jeopardy!, here on the site?

More information about Final Jeopardy:

With a population of just over 2 million, Perth is the fourth-most populous metropolitan area in Australia (behind Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane) and it is the capital city of Western Australia. It is easily the most populous Australian city on the Indian Ocean.

Indian Ocean Drive is a newer road in Australia’s road network, serving as Western Australia State Route 60. It cuts off 30 minutes between Perth and Geraldton than the previous route of the Brand Highway (Australia Highway 1 in that part of the country). Headed southwards, it is currently known as Indian Ocean Drive through to the Perth suburb of Wanneroo, at which point it becomes Wanneroo Road.

I’m going to be curious to see what the Australians think of this clue when the show airs in Australia (The show lags a few months behind North America in Australia.)

  1. The dreaded “Geography” category again…. Ali started the summer with his third win (well, in airing the game anyway). He is now # 10 on the ToC list, leading Marty by 67,801 to 65.900. Marty slipped to # 10. They still need 7 players with 4 or more wins to kick of a 3 game winner (Ali at the moment). Maybe he will close out the week tomorrow with his 4th win???

  2. That’s a second Thursday in a row where we had a triple stumper in Final Jeopardy.

It was last Friday (Ascension Island). I “lucked” into today’s (I tried to think of something that didn’t sound Australian), but I knew Friday’s,,,

  3. I should’ve gone with my gut. The correct answer jumped out at me, but then I thought Perth was the 3rd largest. Once Deb said Brisbane, it hit me immediately. Great game with great people.

  4. I think Ali could be a player to keep an eye on. He doesn’t seem to have any major category weaknesses so far.
