Correct response: Who is Toni Morrison?

Did you know that you can now find game-by-game stats of everyone, now including Jason Zuffranieri and James Holzhauer, who has won 10 or more games on Jeopardy!, here on the site?

More information about Final Jeopardy:

Pulitzer and Nobel Prize-winning writer Toni Morrison is best known for 1987’s Beloved, which won her the Pulitzer. When she died in 2019, Oprah memorialized her in an Instagram post, saying, “She was a magician with language, who understood the power of words. She used them to roil us, to wake us, to educate us and help us grapple with our deepest wounds and try to comprehend them.”

Also, because the show has come under fire from some quarters for not doing this in the past, I would like to point out that this Final Jeopardy!, featuring a Black woman author, was simply categorized under “Authors”.

If I’m not mistaken from what I read, this was the last game taped before they halted production. Andy can correct me if I’m wrong.

It’s the final episode of the season. They may not resume taping until August.

      • I guess the speculation can now begin on whether Alex will be the host in August or whenever they begin taping the new shows. Watching the latest shows, he seemed OK, so hopefully he will be able to return if he wants to.

  2. i got it correct.

toni morrison is one of those “if you don’t have an answer, go with Toni Morrison”. speaks volumes about her fame.

i did not realize she had died recently…….. RIP, Toni

Good luck next season, Zach, and I’m definitely looking forward to the 2019 Tournament of Champions encore, and highlights of each champion before the tournament.

Congrats to Zach for pulling it out in FJ, keeping it interesting by otherwise getting all correct responses, but missing 3 DD’s! I’m sure it’s not the first time, but it’s the first time I’ve seen or heard about someone missing all 3 DD’s.

  5. Awful episode. Three wrong answers on the daily double resulted a shutout.

did they not shake hands at the end the game due to covid?

Zach may give Ken a run for his money in terms of longest total time ss champ. Already 3 months!
