The Mexican state of Michoacán (located generally between Mexico City and Guadalajara) is home to the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, located on its eastern border with the State of Mexico. Millions of butterflies travel south from northern climes into the region every winter. The 56,000-hectare reserve is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From 2007 to 2011, Michoacán put a graphic of numerous monarch butterflies on its state license plate.
This is a bit of a trivia chestnut, but Canada’s Northwest Territories is well-known for its vehicle registration plates being in the shape of a polar bear; 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of its introduction.

Andy’s Thoughts:
- I found the FURNITURE $400 clue amusing; the “podium” v. “lectern” distinction has been an inside joke dating back to the days of there being official message boards on the Jeopardy! website over a decade ago.
- Kudos to Michael for giving a go of it on Daily Double 3, even though it didn’t work out for him.

I guessed Cucaracha, also…so, I don’t feel so bad.
We start the week with a triple stumper.
I guessed Monarch Butterfly and shouted it at the TV because I couldn’t believe I finally knew I was absolutely correct!
To be honest, I was thinking cockroaches, too.
Are you going to bring in the page showing this week’s contestants (Season 37, Week 5)?
Because the Chargers were on Monday Night Football, ABC7 in Los Angeles preempted Jeopardy to show the game. Instead of rescheduling Jeopardy to late night, they pushed all the games back a day. So the Monday game in L.A. aired on Tuesday, and all the games will be a day late, with the Friday episode airing on Saturday.
So anyone who cares about spoilers might want to be wary of Jeopardy’s social media since they like touting results not long after the west coast timeslots are past, particularly when there is a champ on a streak
Gail got what my friends call a Kelpo or Kelly point. A friend’s mother, Mrs Kelly, started counting a winning point when she knew the answer when none of the contestants do. Many of us now keep track of our Kelpos. Michael
