Warning: This page contains spoilers for the November 22-23, 2025, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that today’s game is an encore presentation of the game that originally aired on April 14, 2025.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category American Authors) for November 22-23, 2025 (Season 41, Game 156):

Like a character in one of his novels, this author hid in a meat locker during an Allied bombing

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Jade Snelling, an archivist from Blacksburg, Virginia
Jade Snelling on Jeopardy!
Kyle Harvey, a civil engineer from San Antonio, Texas
Kyle Harvey on Jeopardy!
Andrew Hayes, a law student originally from Tupelo, Mississippi (3-day total: $72,202)
Andrew Hayes on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

As we wait for the weekend to roll over into Monday and see if Harrison Whitaker can reach superchampion status, the show’s weekly look back at last season continues with Andrew Hayes’s 4th game. In this one, he took on Kyle Harvey of San Antonio and Jade Snelling of Blacksburg.

I do want to take the time to point out today that some minor changes might be coming to The Jeopardy! Fan in the near future in terms of how certain things—like detailed daily statistics and commenting—might be accessed. Certainly, the two biggest problems I feel I’m facing as the publisher here are plagiarism and disrespectful commenters, and I am investigating solutions in order to make for a better experience overall—and I do also want to make it clear that any solution will not include a paywall.

While Dresden was being bombed by the Allies in 1945, Kurt Vonnegut was being housed as a POW in the area. He managed to survive by hiding in a meat locker named “Schlachthof 5”, or, in English, “Slaughterhouse 5”, which later named a famous novel of Vonnegut’s.

Game Recap:

Andrew finding the Daily Double just before the break punctuated a very high-scoring opening round where our three players combined for nearly $20,000. Double Jeopardy saw Andrew split the Daily Doubles, which was enough to make sure that everyone at least still had a mathematical chance entering Final Jeopardy.

Final Jeopardy saw Jade and Andrew be correct, earning Andrew a fourth victory; next week’s rerun will feature Andrew making an attempt at victory #5.

It should be noted that the overall quality of contestants over the past year was so high that Kyle’s performance of 20 correct responses and being exactly 75% of a ToCer’s score entering Final Jeopardy was not enough to warrant a Second Chance invitation. (And I can’t even say I disagree with the show’s choice on this one, unfortunately for Kyle. The competition for spots was just that strong!)

Scores going into Final:

Andrew $17,600
Kyle $13,200
Jade $5,600

Tonight’s results:

Jade $5,600 + $3,200 = $8,800 (Who is Kurt Vonnegut?)
Kyle $13,200 – $1,999 = $11,201 (Who is Heller? Hi Austen and baby #2!)
Andrew $17,600 + $8,801 = $26,401 (Who is Vonnegut?) (4-day total: $98,603)

Andrew Hayes, today's Jeopardy! winner (for the November 22-23, 2025 game.)

Game Stats:

Jade $5,600 Coryat, 9 correct, 2 incorrect, 17.54% in first on buzzer (10/57), 1/1 on rebound attempts (on 2 rebound opportunities)
