The quote from today’s clue comes from Act 1, Scene 4 of the 1897 Edward Rostand play about the life of Cyrano de Bergerac, a 17th-century French novelist who was depicted as having an obnoxiously large nose; Cyrano being mocked for his nose is a cause for both his temper (“shall taste my steel”) and a large amount of self-doubt, especially when it comes to his pining for Roxanne in the play. The play also is seen as the introduction of the word “panache” (meaning flamboyance) into the English language.

I guessed correctly, but only after first thinking of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. There was a final jeopardy that was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and I was worried someone would forget the ‘d’ in ‘Nosed’
Just like that Leonard Maltin Christmas movie category when Lisa Beth Davis said Scrooge instead of Scrooged.
And now THREE lock games in a row in as many days!! And 9 out of 9 DDs, all correct. Amazing.
Braydon looks like the real deal! I’m guessing he’s the first to get 9 correct DD’s in his first 3 games and maybe only the second to get 9 in any consecutive 3 game stretch. James did in just once during his 33 regular games.
Andy, do you know of any alternative way to watch Jeopardy? In the St. Louis area, the TEGNA, and AT&T dispute are keeping me from being able to watch episodes since December 2nd. Thank you!
The best thing I can honestly suggest at this point—at least the one that won’t potentially get my ads cut off—would be rabbit ears (an antenna), John. I’m sorry that you’re stuck in a carriage dispute.

I’m sure that Brayden will make it to $100,000 tomorrow, if he wins his 4th game.
Also, if Brayden would’ve gotten it right, he would’ve gotten the biggest payday of the season so far.
That would’ve given him an even $45,000! I can tell he likes even numbers.

I think that it was a fairly hard FJ. No clue as to timing or that it was written originally in French. Plus you needed to know that Cyrano was originally a play. I got it because I studied that stuff back in the day but I think that it was either something you knew or you didn’t.
They always say the easy ones are the ones you know. And first thing I thought was title character and nose. It wasn’t Rudolph…so….I loved Steve Martin in that role.
Give me Jose Ferrer (1950) any day. One of my all-time favorite films based on my favorite play.
Dang! Definitely getting some James Jr. vibes from Brayden. Eventually a good player will get lucky with daily doubles and beat him, but the question is how soon. Hoping for a long streak.

Does Brayden have a hearing problem? He often cocks his ear toward Alex.

I missed the answer in the category for prime numbers when he correctly said : “what is 11?”. What was, the original answer? I thought the correct question was” What is 10? ” But, or course 10 is not a prime number.

The traditional lodging is 10 Downing Street; however, recent Prime Ministers have lived at 11 Downing Street, as it is larger.
I thought the answer was rather obvious. I was very surprised that Brayden missed it. If you know that “visage” means “face”, the center of that would be the nose, and that leads to Cyrano de Bergerac who was a duelist and playwright famous for his large nose and was played in the movies by Jose Ferrer and Gerard Depardieu.
