Good morning, and happy Hump Day! $145,680 has been donated to The Bowery Mission through 7 games of Savannah Guthrie hosting—today is episode 8 of her 10-episode hosting stint. Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Famous Women) for Wednesday, June 23, 2021 (Season 37, Game 193):
In 1983, 20 years after her famous first, she was honored on a one-ruble coin
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s contestants:
Danielle Linn, a historian & auctioneer from Cincinnati, Ohio![]() |
Joel Simeone, a sports information assistant from Azusa, California![]() |
Sandy Olive, a high school English teacher from St. Louis, Missouri (1-day total: $21,000)![]() |
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: Sandy won $21,000 yesterday, playing very well without the help of any Daily Doubles. Picking those up—if only to keep her opponents from making a comeback—will be helpful for Sandy being able to continue her run.

I knew that it was the first woman in space but had no idea what her name is.
Me too – I knew why she was famous but no clue about her name.
I would like to see Sandy win again, though.
Sandy zero’d out on the DDs but performed like a champ in the other major stats AND she knew both first & last names in FJ!
Congratulations!
YOU GO, Sandy!
first female russian astronaut in space that I have no clue about, but I would like to see Sandy keep her wins going. I definitely think she has what it takes to break the dry spell here.
Time to jump on the Sandy bandwagon. Or maybe we call it the Sandwagon.
Hopefully Sandy can become the next 5 time champ in 4 months!!! But who knows these days.
