Today’s Final Jeopardy – Wednesday, June 23, 2021

Good morning, and happy Hump Day! $145,680 has been donated to The Bowery Mission through 7 games of Savannah Guthrie hosting—today is episode 8 of her 10-episode hosting stint. Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Famous Women) for Wednesday, June 23, 2021 (Season 37, Game 193):

In 1983, 20 years after her famous first, she was honored on a one-ruble coin

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s contestants:

Danielle Linn, a historian & auctioneer from Cincinnati, Ohio
Danielle Linn on Jeopardy!
Joel Simeone, a sports information assistant from Azusa, California
Joel Simeone on Jeopardy!
Sandy Olive, a high school English teacher from St. Louis, Missouri (1-day total: $21,000)
Sandy Olive on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: Sandy won $21,000 yesterday, playing very well without the help of any Daily Doubles. Picking those up—if only to keep her opponents from making a comeback—will be helpful for Sandy being able to continue her run.

Did you know that Jeopardy! is giving away the Alexa Echo Show 10? Sweepstakes information is here.

Today’s Clue of the Day for the Alexa sweepstakes: IN A BOTTLE: This company says the best way to get ketchup out of its glass bottles is to tap the “57” on the neck

Clue of the Day correct response: What is Heinz?

PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to. When wearing a mask, ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

  1. I knew that it was the first woman in space but had no idea what her name is.

  2. Me too – I knew why she was famous but no clue about her name.
I would like to see Sandy win again, though.

    • Sandy zero’d out on the DDs but performed like a champ in the other major stats AND she knew both first & last names in FJ!

      YOU GO, Sandy!

  3. first female russian astronaut in space that I have no clue about, but I would like to see Sandy keep her wins going. I definitely think she has what it takes to break the dry spell here.

Time to jump on the Sandy bandwagon. Or maybe we call it the Sandwagon.
