Today’s contestants:

John Roberson, a medical coder from Apple Valley, Minnesota![]() |
Matt Amodio, a Ph.D student from New Haven, Connecticut (2-day total: $81,400)![]() |
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: Matt has averaged 13 correct in the bottom two rows of the board over his first two games; it’s likely going to take Matt running out of steam in order to dethrone him at this point.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to. When wearing a mask, ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Doctoral degree-granting institutions in New Haven: What is Yale? Yesterday Matt said he was a big history nerd. Is that perhaps what he is studying there? Hard to tell his strengths. He appears to have broad knowledge.
General Admin note: posting information from contestants’ social media profiles here is not acceptable.
She probably just got all that from the introductory information for Matt, not his social media.
There was another user that posted further information in reply; my Admin note was in response to that.
Sorry!
Congratulations on the 100K, Matt!
I thought it was a one-and-done when he won his first game, but nope!
easy final jeopardy There was a movie based on the book pride and prejudice starring Kiera Knightly and the dame Judi Dench. Still I can’t believe how everyone just missed this one. Oh well congrats to Matt on his 3rd win today. 100K in 3 days is a enormous total so I think he definitely has a good chance of winning game 4 next week.
There were multiple Pride and Prejudice movies – not to be mistaken with the movies “Bride and Prejudice” and “Pride + Prejudice + Zombies”
Matt’s winning ways are leaving me breathless! He cleaned up on the DDs, 59% 1st on the buzzer for 30 correct responses, and ran away with FJ!, for a 3 game total over $100k and an 84% chance to win a 4th!
Congrats Matt! Can’t wait for Monday’s game!
Did they not get that “proud” alluded to the title? Tiny leap to the “hero’s” name.
I was bummed when Josh lost, but it makes me feel better that his conqueror was the real deal, as we are seeing.
Years of watching Big Bang Theory has me yelling out “Darcy” at the Tv. Sheldon was unable to ruin P&P for Amy…“Amy’s beloved Pride and Prejudice is a flawless work of genius. He’s proud, she’s prejudiced, it just works.”
I can’t keep all the Austen sisters’ books straight. Maybe I just need to read them.
Of the 15 players who have won at least $100,000 in 3 days, I can remember 12 of them. Matt Amodio, James Holzhauer, Roger Craig, Mark Runsvold, Brian Weikle, Kevin Joyce, Joon Pahk, Andrew Pau, Larissa Kelly, Arthur Gandolfi, Tom Baker & Seth Alcorn. Who were the other 3?
I’ve just remembered Megan Barnes & David Skaar. 1 more.
I found the last 1: Jack Feerick, with 3 wins & $108,200. Alright, that done.
