Mira defeated Kate Campolieta and Jesse Chin in the tournament’s opening match in runaway fashion.

Overall Thoughts: Chances of winning: Vince 38.797% Mira 31.945% Sriram 29.258%.

Vince had a very strong game in his quarterfinal and certainly will be looking to keep the Montreal win streak going. However, all three players in this game are strong and absolutely anybody can win this one.

6/8 on rebound attempts (on 25 rebound opportunities)
24.12% in first on buzzer (55/228)
4/4 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $9,400)
1/4 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $10,800

Diandra surprised many with a very strong performance in the last quarterfinal, where she defeated James Tyler and David Bederman. Will she be able to keep that up in the semis?
Deb Bilodeau (20) +810

40.00% in first on buzzer (68/170)
3/4 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $1,800)
1/3 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $15,600

Deb advanced out of their quarterfinal when they defeated Second Chancer Matt Harvey with a very intelligent Final Jeopardy wager. Will that excellent strategy continue in this round?
Taylor Clagett (6) +920
Chesapeake Beach, Maryland
Taylor Clagett on Jeopardy!
77 correct, 18 incorrect
1/3 on rebound attempts (on 17 rebound opportunities)
35.53% in first on buzzer (81/228)
4/7 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: $6,200)
2/4 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $11,700

Taylor advanced over Justin White and Lisa Sriken after a Triple Stumper Final Jeopardy. While many were disappointed to see Lisa go, Taylor has his own fans who are very happy to see him advance this far.

Overall Thoughts: Chances of winning: Deb 35.014% Taylor 33.221% Diandra 31.765%

This is shaping up to be a very closely contested semifinal match. I could see any of the three players in this one advancing.

Kat defeated Long Nguyen in one of the best games of all time on February 13; if she still has anything left in the tank after that, she has another very strong opponent in Alex.

42.54% in first on buzzer (97/228)

Jesse Matheny (27) +1600

1/1 on rebound attempts (on 7 rebound opportunities)
35.88% in first on buzzer (61/170)
2/6 on Daily Doubles (Net Earned: -$4,200)
0/3 in Final Jeopardy
Average Coryat: $12,667

Jesse’s shrewd Final Jeopardy bet led to a come-from-behind victory from him on February 9.

Overall Thoughts: Chances of winning: Alex 39.275% Kat 38.800% Jesse 21.925%

The prediction model thinks that Kat is very likely to have a very spirited two-way battle for the second round in a row. However, don’t count Jesse out here. There’s enough variance baked into the game at this level.
