An official American Viticultural Area spanning multiple states includes this eastern island where you’ll find the town of Chilmark
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Morgan Walker, a marketing director from Glenwood Springs, Colorado
|
Aaron Levine, a sports anchor from Seattle, Washington
|
Shaan Mishra, a management consultant from Carmel, Indiana (1-day total: $15,600)
|
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
The last week of October begins today with Shaan Mishra as our defending champion; your challengers are Colorado marketing director Morgan Walker and sports anchor Aaron Levine from Washington state. Certainly, I’ll personally be cheering for Aaron today (Nothing against Shaan or Morgan, but I’m familiar with Aaron’s participation in trivia events.)
In case you missed it, as we enter into the final few weeks of the qualification for the 2025–26 postseason, I’ve posted some thoughts as to who I think we might see in 2026 Champions Wildcard.

More information about Final Jeopardy:
(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2025 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)
The island of Martha’s Vineyard, located off the coast of Massachusetts, is a part of the Southeastearn New England AVA, encompassing the southern shore of eastern Connecticut, Rhode Island, and southeastern Massachusetts, including Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod. (An American Viticultural Area, or AVA, is a designated grape-growing area, and an area of the country that is given an appellation on wine packaging, due to the wish of many consumers to know where their wine originates.)
Because I think this might be a sticking point later, certainly because Martha’s Vineyard is its own American Viticultural Area in of itself: an area is can be a part of multiple AVAs—this is also the case over in the Napa Valley area of California; some areas are a part of three, each encompassing a larger area of California.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: Aaron $14,600 Morgan $10,200 Shaan $4,800)
Shaan: You need to bet at least $4,000 to have any chance of victory.(Actual bet: $4,000)
Aaron: Standard cover bet over Morgan is $5,801. If you are sure that Morgan will bet small, a bet between $2 and $3,798 would best defend against Morgan betting small. (This is not a Shore’s Conjecture game, though.) (Actual bet: $6,000)
Morgan: Bet no more than $599 to keep Shaan locked out. (Actual bet: $10,198)

Aaron Levine should have won ESPN’s “Dream Job” a few years ago.
Yes, he’s also well known in trivia/quizzing circles, and his appearance has been highly anticipated.
Well, the word “Vineyard” is right there, so yeah!
Guessed correctly from ‘eastern island’. I didn’t know the meaning of viticultural. Maybe it’s because the Cape Cod Marathon was this month (a beautiful place to run in October), and you can see Martha’s Vineyard from part of the course.
I didn’t know the meaning of viticultural either, but also didn’t think of it possibly being related to “vino” (wine), assuming just related to “vita” (life). Like Morgan, I also guessed Long Island.
Viticultural + island = Martha’s Vineyard
Viticultural made me think of vineyards which left me no other choice but Martha’s Vineyard. Couldn’t think of any other places in the East with Vineyard in the name, although, I’m guessing there must be others.
Didn’t get FJ after checking it out here.
Had a full 18 inning baseball game I was watching. Crazy game! ⚾️⚾️⚾️
