Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category 20th Century History) for January 10-11, 2026 (Season 41, Game 163):
A 1919 Punch cartoon titled “The Gap in the Bridge” showed Uncle Sam sleeping on the missing keystone of this

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:
Eric Cordova, a compliance specialist from Chicago, Illinois
|
Abigail Arnold, an academic administrator from Waltham, Massachusetts
|
Liam Starnes, an undergraduate student from Barrington, Illinois (3-day total: $72,202)

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
Today’s weekend rerun features Liam Starnes going for win #4 against Abigail Arnold and Eric Cordova. Those who have been paying attention to the main games know that Abigail was invited back for Second Chance as a result of this game.
One thing that I would like to mention is that both Second Chance and Champions Wildcard are a direct result of more players on Jeopardy! playing more strategically. Because more contestants are taking it upon themselves to hunt for Daily Doubles, the Jeopardy! of the 2020s has significantly more variance than the Jeopardy! of the 1990s and 2000s. Thus, it is significantly more likely that someone who is good enough to finish second place at Jeopardy! Masters might be a player unlucky enough to lose their first game. Moreover, I find it quite hard to believe that some of the current postseason format’s largest detractors online—the vast majority of whom have never appeared themselves on the Alex Trebek Stage—would actually turn down a Second Chance or Champions Wildcard invite if they happened to become a contestant on the show, played very well, but didn’t quite make it to the Tournament of Champions.
It should also be noted that the semifinal pairings for Champions Wildcard have been unveiled: Monday’s game is Ryan Sharpe vs. Vickie Talvola vs. Cameron Berry; Tuesday’s game is Jonathan Hugendubler vs. Michelle Tsai vs. Bill McKinney, while Wednesday’s game is Stella Trout vs. Ian Morrison vs. Harvey Silikovitz. My full preview will be posted tomorrow.

Due to the U.S. Senate’s refusal to ratify the treaty permitting American entry into the League of Nations (a precursor to the modern U.N.) despite Woodrow Wilson wishing for such an organization in the Fourteen Points, Punch mocked the Americans (represented by Uncle Sam) as asleep. This American isolationism was one of the causes of World War II as the League proved ineffective without American involvement.

Looking to find out who won Jeopardy! today? Here’s the January 10-11, 2026 Jeopardy! by the numbers, along with a recap:
Game Recap:
Abigail went for the big lead early, but an expensive True Daily Double on the opening board dropped her score back to $0 and meant Liam led after 15 clues. Liam then picked up $8,600 on the two Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy to ensure he led despite Abigail’s 25 correct responses to Liam’s 14.
Final Jeopardy was a Double Stumper (Eric didn’t have enough money to make it to Final), which meant it came down to the betting. Abigail ended up betting $401 too much, meaning Liam is now a 4-time champion.
Next week will feature Liam going for win #5 against Raguell Couch and Harold Goldston III.
Scores going into Final:
Liam $18,800
Abigail $14,000
Eric $0
Tonight’s results:
Eric $0 (By rule, did not participate in Final Jeopardy)
Abigail $14,000 – $4,801 = $9,199 (What is London Bridge?)
Liam $18,800 – $9,201 = $9,599 (What is the Golden Gate Bridge) (4-day total: $81,801)

Game Stats:
