Douglas Adams—who actually co-wrote the “Patient Abuse” sketch for the final episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus—was referred to as the “Monty Python of science fiction” in reviews for the posthumously-published 2002 work The Salmon of Doubt, part of his Dirk Gently series of books.

Game Recap:

Despite some early struggles in the history category—our players combined for five incorrect responses in the category—everyone turned around their games, and this turned into a pretty good one. While Ashley had a big lead after 30 clues, Ram turned things around in Double Jeopardy, picking up 13 correct in the round. That being said, he made a “fearful wager” on his Daily Double, betting just $1,500 (of his $3,400) on a $2,000 clue; while it didn’t affect whether or not Ram led entering Final Jeopardy, one can’t help but wonder in hindsight if such lack of aggression led to Ram not being seen in Second Chance this past winter.

In any case, the strategic struggles didn’t end with the Daily Doubles; Carla was the only player correct in Final Jeopardy—but she didn’t get rewarded for it. All three players made unorthodox Final Jeopardy bets, and when viewers saw the final scores, it was Ashley who became a 2-day champion.

Next week’s encore presentation features Ashley going for win #3 against Henry Barbaro and Matt Grossman.

Scores going into Final:

Ashley $16,500
Ram $13,300
Carla $6,800

Tonight’s results:

Carla $6,800 + $3,301 = $10,101 (Who is Terry Prachett? Adams)
Ram $13,300 – $13,250 = $50 (Who is Isaac Asimov?)
Ashley $16,500 – $3,000 = $13,500 (Who is Frank Herbert?) (2-day total: $29,100)

Ashley Chan, today's Jeopardy! winner (for the March 28-29, 2026 game.)

Game Stats:

Ram $13,800 Coryat, 17 correct, 3 incorrect, 33.33% in first on buzzer (19/57), 0/0 on rebound attempts (on 3 rebound opportunities)
