Today’s Final Jeopardy – Friday, April 3, 2026

Warning: This page contains spoilers for the April 3, 2026, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as noon Eastern in some U.S. television markets.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category ’90s Television) for Friday, April 3, 2026 (Season 42, Game 150):

“Northwest Passage” was a working title of this series that was renamed for mountains

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Robyn Horn, a commercial real estate broker from Seattle, Washington
Robyn Horn on Jeopardy!
Emmett Laurie, a poker player from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Emmett Laurie on Jeopardy!
Jamie Ding, a bureaucrat & law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey (15-day total: $428,000)
Jamie Ding on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Jamie Ding’s win streak made it to 15 victories yesterday; today, he goes for win #16 against Seattle’s Robyn Horn and Philadelphia’s Emmett Laurie.

With today being the Good Friday holiday, Celebrity Jeopardy! is replaying the first quarterfinal (originally aired March 13) between Katie Nolan, Mark Duplass, and Rachel Dratch.

Who remembers last Friday’s interviews when Tanya Iyer said that she “came to the conclusion that Jeopardy! is actually more based on merit and skill than our nation’s economic system”—comments that I think have rung particularly true over the past week as Jamie Ding has dominated the proceedings? Superchampions are always polarizing amongst the viewership, don’t get me wrong—it’s just hard to take the complaints seriously when traffic here at The Jeopardy! Fan is up 35%. And, to be quite frank, I think many of the complaints stem from the fact that these viewers don’t want to see players like Jamie Ding and Yogesh Raut at the top of a system based on merit and skill—because it flies in the face of their worldview and they object to that worldview being challenged. These objections to the current Jeopardy! system will be dressed up so that you can’t actually see the underlying beliefs behind them—and you’ll start to see them more and more the better Jamie does—but fans need to be reminded about what those underlying beliefs are, and any media outlet that chooses to uncritically amplify those viewpoints will be seen as complicit.

(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2026 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)

Twin Peaks is a surrealist mystery horror drama TV series that originally aired on ABC in 1990 and 1991 and gained a cult following, especially among younger TV viewers at the time—its popularity among younger audiences was what led to its pickup in the first place. Eventually receiving 18 more episodes in 2017 that aired on Showtime, it was originally titled Northwest Passage and would be set in North Dakota; it was moved to Washington instead, and the town was named Twin Peaks (which then named the television series).

I think the most likely people to get this clue correct will be in their 40s and 50s; we’ll see how it plays on stage today.

Game Recap:

Just about midway through Double Jeopardy, Jamie had a $20,000 lead and was looking to cruise to his eighth runaway in a row. But Emmett found the last Daily Double today, doubling up through it to ensure that Final Jeopardy meant something today.

Two of our three players were correct in Final—Robyn and Jamie, giving Jamie his 16th victory, tying Jamie for 10th all-time in wins, putting him to 8th in regular play winnings, and putting him in 20th in all-time winnings (including tournaments and consolation prizes). Jamie goes for win #17 on Monday!

Scores going into Final:

Jamie $29,400
Emmett $17,200
Robyn $5,400

Tonight’s results:

Robyn $5,400 + $4,600 = $10,000 (What is Twin Peaks?)
Emmett $17,200 – $17,200 = $0 (What is… Hi Zoe? :))
Jamie $29,400 + $5,001 = $34,401 (What is Twin Peaks?) (16-day total: $462,401)

Jamie Ding, today's Jeopardy! winner (for the April 3, 2026 game.)

Andy’s Thoughts:

  • Truth be told, I didn’t find anything inherently wrong with Jamie’s Daily Double searching today in Double Jeopardy; that said, I do think the fact they’re coming out so late in his games does increase variance significantly.
  • I enjoyed that “Phrase & Spoonerism” category, but I also wouldn’t be upset if that category got saved for ToC+ level tournaments in the future.
  • Today’s J!6 clues can be found at the monthly archive.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:

(Scores: Jamie $29,400 Emmett $17,200 Robyn $5,400)

Jamie: Standard cover bet over Emmett is $5,001. (Actual bet: $5,001)

Emmett: You have to bet at least $7,200 to have any chance of victory. (Actual bet: $17,200)

Robyn: Emmett’s two most likely bets are $12,201 or “just about everything”. If you think he’ll do the former, limit your bet to $400. If you think he’ll do the latter, bet $4,601—it will get you up to $10,001 in case Emmett bets his minimum and is incorrect, while also likely staying his “nearly all in” range. (Actual bet: $4,600)
