Steven found the Daily Double almost immediately in Stock Symbols.

He wagered 1000 on this clue: “Enjoy a cup of Starbucks while checking out the bestsellers here, BKS.” My guess was right, and so was Steven’s. We may both have been thrown off by the odd letters, but Mr. Trebek claims it stands for “books.”
I bet Andy swept 1 Man, 1 Career, 1 Team.
Steven was rolling by the first break. Mr. Trebek said Maura and Scott were already asking what they have to do to beat this guy. But then he said we’d find out after the break. Just check this out:

Like me, Maura tried out for the Teen Tournament! Scott and Steven mentioned their wives but not by name. As for Steven, he surely made Mr. Trebek’s day when he suggested people appear on Jeopardy! to wipe out their student loans. Trebek said, “Pay attention to our champion, ladies and gentlemen, he knows.”

Scott wagered 3000 on this clue: “In 40 A.D., Trung Trac & her sister gathered an army & drove the Chinese out of what’s now this country.” He got it right.
Steven found the next one in Animal Impostors. There was one clue left after this worth 200, and Mr. Trebek had given the one-minute warning when 5 clues were left.

This was the clue, on which he wagered 100: “Crayfish aren’t fish but this, like their relative the lobster.” I guessed right on this one but Steven didn’t know. We did not see the last clue.
The Final Jeopardy category was Pop Groups. This was the clue: “In 2012, 22 years after their first album, they released a new one that includes ‘Good Vibrations’ & ‘Monday Monday.'” This is one of those finals that is so easy you spend the 30 seconds wondering whether you oversimplified. But it was a triple-stumper! And 2 contestants guessed the same thing, New Kids on the Block, which leaves me wondering their rationale. I have to think they were thinking of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, since they have a song with “Vibration” in the title. Anyway Maura lost 15500, Scott lost 3901, and Steven lost 15600, drawing a slow “Oh my gosh!” from Mr. Trebek. So we’ll see Scott tomorrow. I’m mostly interested in what he’s wearing. He looked okay today.
