See why Andy said, and I quote, “THAT WAS OUR BEST ONE YET” about tonight’s Hangout! I hope he doesn’t mean because my connection was shaky at first. Yesterday on Jeopardy!, Bill Albertini “took it to the champ,” according to Mr. Trebek.
Jenica Jessen
Bill
Michael Wille
I thought it might be a long episode when Michael said “hunnerd” the first time he selected.
Does anyone else think of “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” when you hear “adobe”?
Jenica found the first Daily Double in Antisocial Science.
Bill 1000 (2 right)
Michael 1000 (2 right)
Jenica 2000 (4 right)
She wagered everything on this clue: “In 1939 Edwin Sutherland put these 2 words before ‘crime’ to describe bad things done by high-status people.” She and I got it!
At the first break:
Bill 2800 (2 right)
Michael 1200 (One right)
Jenica 5000 (2 right)
Wonder about Jenica’s name? She says as her parents were choosing names after she was born, she’d stop crying whenever they said “Jenica.” Now you know.
I wish we could’ve seen all the clues in Mall Shops, but we didn’t see two.
Bill 4200 (5 right and one wrong)
Michael 1800 (3 right and one wrong)
Jenica 5400 (3 right and one wrong)
Jenica found the first Daily Double of Double Jeopardy in That Started from This Tropic Port.
Bill 10600 (5 right)
Michael 7800 (7 right and one wrong)
Jenica 7800 (5 right and one wrong)
This time she wagered 3000 on this clue: “Grand Turk Port is in these islands where conch is a national symbol.” She apparently was close but was wrong. Trebek said “Pick again” while she was already picking! I got this next clue, a triple-stumper in the same category, but it was a guess: “Sugar, rum & molasses flow from Bridgetown, the capital & main port of this West Indies nation.”
Michael got the next Daily Double in Just Sit Right Down.
Bill 10600
Michael 8200 (One right)
Jenica 4400 (One right)
Michael’s turn to wager. He picked 3000, on this clue: “The Montgolfier is a Louis XVI chair created by Georges Jacob with a back shaped like one of these.” Michael and I were wrong. Did anybody know this? Only then did Trebek give the less-than-a-minute warning. We had two clues covered.
Bill 10600
Michael 5200
Jenica 9600 (3 right)
The Final Jeopardy category is The Bible. This was the clue: “The first conversation recounted in the Bible is in Genesis 3, between these 2; it leads to trouble.” I got this. Michael was wrong though and lost 4800. Jenica was right and doubled her score. Bill was right and added 8600. Ooh, it’s another tie.
I didn’t track my Coryat today. I got kind of a late start since I watched the baseball game, and I didn’t think anyone cared very much.
