Today’s Final Jeopardy – Thursday, November 13, 2025

Warning: This page contains spoilers for the November 13, 2025, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as noon Eastern in some U.S. television markets.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Civil War Veterans) for Thursday, November 13, 2025 (Season 42, Game 49):

12 years before his death out West, he led a charge at the Battle of Trevilian Station in 1864

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Sheila Collins, an attorney from San Jose, California
Sheila Collins on Jeopardy!
David Lewis, a subterranean tour guide from Seattle, Washington
David Lewis on Jeopardy!
Harrison Whitaker, a researcher originally from Terre Haute, Indiana (2-day total: $59,801)
Harrison Whitaker on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Harrison Whitaker is averaging nearly 30 correct responses a game and nearly $30,000 a victory over his first two wins. Today, he goes for victory #3 against David Lewis of Seattle and Sheila Collins of San Jose.

It was at this point in Jeopardy! Production Time that Sarah came on to a Substack Live saying that just a couple of games were left until the cutoff, and she seemed excited about how the current champion had been performing. That being said, here are the stakes: If Harrison loses today, then Aaron Levine clinches a spot in the Tournament of Champions. If Harrison wins today, he’ll have passed Aaron and if he then loses before the cutoff, Aaron will be relegated to Champions Wildcard.

Interestingly, it feels to me as though Jessica Marshall’s Second Chance chances might hinge upon how well Harrison does over the next couple of days as well—if Harrison’s numbers are really good, then Jessica’s “strength of schedule” (putting up five figures going into Final against Allegra and Harrison) would give her a very strong invitation case.

After graduating from West Point in 1861, George Custer made his way through the ranks of the U.S. Army through the Civil War and was a lieutenant colonel in the Army fighting battles against Native American tribes in the West. It was in one of those battles where Custer was killed at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in June of 1876.

This feels like a straightforward “do the math” Final Jeopardy clues—assuming you know who the most famous Civil War veteran was who died out west in 1876.

  1. The only thing that slowed me down is trying to remember where exactly Little Big Horn is and is it ‘out west’, and eventually I just went with it.

  2. Got it! Should be a triple get. Doing the math.
