We’d only seen one clue, worth 200, when Joshua found the Daily Double in Earth. He wagered 1000 on this clue: “Among the seas of the Mediterranean, it’s alphabetically first.” He was wrong. 🙁
At the first break:
John 1800 (4 right and one wrong)
Joshua -400 (4 right and one wrong)
Cyndi 800 (2 right and one wrong)
At the end of the round:
John 4200 (7 right and one wrong)
Joshua 600 (2 right)
Cyndi 2400 (3 right and one wrong)
Just like in the Double Jeopardy round, Joshua found a Daily Double after answering one clue, this time worth 400. He wagered 2000 on this clue in Cat-O-Five-Tails: “Church, the cat in this Stephen King novel, is killed one day, then pops up the next day like nothing happened–typical cat.” He got it!!
This might’ve been the easiest clue in the whole game, but it was a triple-stumper in Lucky ’13: “On July 13, 2013 she tied the knot with actor Olivier Martinez; 3 months later, at the age of 47, she gave birth to their son.” I said out loud, “Oh come on you guys.”
My closed-captioning said [blows raspberry] after Joshua found the second Daily Double of the round in The 19th Century.
John 10600 (5 right)
Joshua 10600 (7 right)
Cyndi 4400 (2 right)
Joshua wagered 2500 on this clue: “Exiled from Prussia in 1849, this newspaper editor printed his final issue in red.” He didn’t know.
At the end of the round:
John 15800 (3 right)
Joshua 9700 (3 right and one wrong)
Cyndi 6000 (2 right)
The Final Jeopardy category was U.S. States. This was the clue: “The difference of this southern state’s highest & lowest points is only 345 feet, the smallest disparity among the states.” Cyndi was right, and she added 5900. Joshua was right and he added 6300. Was John right? Yes! And he added 3700!!! John!!
Now, I’m looking forward to both watching Sports Jeopardy and setting up the new printer I got – I needed one that worked with a Chromebook now that I don’t use a PC anymore. But why now? I’m taking crossword-solving from apps (this and this) to pen-and-paper. Instead of posting them to Twitter now, I’ll be posting them here. (I already was.) And I’m also gonna watch Celebrity Name Game, but I’m sad there’s only one new episode a day and not two. The night is young.
I didn’t track my Coryat today.
