What did Boitano do?

Yesterday John Schultz won his fifth episode.

Amanda Boitano
John
Patricia Kelvin

Sorry but I got a little mixed up keeping track of many each contestant got right, before the first break.
John 1000
Patricia 2400
Amanda 2200
I would like to ask John’s wife what she thinks of his idea how to spend his winnings, and what she thought as she was sitting in the audience!
Patricia found the Daily Double of the round in the strangely-named The Ill-iad. Look at these surprising scores!
John 0 (One wrong)
Patricia 3400 (2 right)
Amanda 3000 (2 right and one wrong)
Patricia wagered 1000 on this easy clue: “This disease is more properly known as bovine spongiform encephalopathy.” She got it!
Ted Williams is Trebek’s hero? I thought I knew all of his.
At the end of the round:
John 800 (One right, and the last clue of the round!)
Patricia 6000 (4 right and one wrong)
Amanda 4200 (2 right)
How did Patricia (or anybody else) not get this triple-stumper in First Lady Maiden Names?: “Davis.”
Amanda found the first Daily Double of the round in Flower Power.
John 3600 (3 right)
Patricia 8000 (One right)
Amanda 9400 (7 right)
She wagered 1400 on this clue: “This ‘filler flower’ often used in bridal bouquets comes in several varieties including New Love & Perfecta.” She got it right. She found the next Daily Double too, in Existentialism.
John 5600 (4 right and one wrong)
Patricia 13600 (3 right)
Amanda 14800 (5 right and one wrong)
There were two clues left on the board after this. She wagered 1400 on this clue: “This Danish thinker has been called ‘The Father of Existentialism.'” She got it! Trebek sounded excited!
Wow, I have to admit I liked John’s chances just seeing the contestants. But look at these scores at the end of the round:
John 5600
Patricia 15200 (One right)
Amanda 17800 (One right)
This wagering scenario is actually fun to consider. The Final Jeopardy category is Business History. This is the clue: “Found near Amsterdam in 2010, a 1606 stock certificate from this long-defunct company has been valued at $750,000.” The music started playing without Trebek saying anything! John was wrong and lost 399. Patricia was wrong and lost 4000. Oh, John loses. 🙁 Amanda was right and she added 12601! She’s back tomorrow.
Sorry but I started tracking my Coryat again today, but stopped. I just can’t get into it.
