Quick Recap – November 23, 2015

So, the Monday after the Tournament of Champions always feels like a bit of a letdown, but you know what? We have a returning champion today who’s a pretty awesome person in Laura Ashby, and I’m looking forward to watching her title defence!

Today’s contestants:

Matt Keeshin, an analyst from Chicago, IL
Colin Thibadeau, a music producer & sound editor from The Bronx, NY
Laura Ashby, an attorney from Marietta, GA (1-day total: $18,401)

While the J! Archive doesn’t have the exact numbers up yet, it felt to me that Laura did a much better job of avoiding incorrect responses, and this in itself likely led to her holding the lead going into Final! Remember, folks: STAY CLAM!

Also noteworthy: Matt, in Double Jeopardy, picked both Daily Doubles off back-to-back. I like to refer to this as Katnissing them (after Katniss Everdeen’s skills with a bow and arrow). I wonder if I can get that into the J! Archive glossary…

Scores going into Final Jeopardy!:
Laura $13,200
Matt $9,200
Colin $5,400

Final Jeopardy! category: THE 16TH CENTURY

Final Jeopardy! clue: In 1521, he was the credited author of “Defence of the 7 Sacraments” against Martin Luther’s attacks

Colin 5400 – 5399 = 1 (Thomas More)
Matt 9200 – 8200 = 1000 (Calvin)
Laura 13200 + 5201 = 18401 (2-day champion, $36,802)
