Sports Jeopardy! Recap – February 17, 2016

Remember, you can watch this and other Sports Jeopardy episodes at crackle.com/sports-jeopardy!

Today’s contestants:

Jay Sullivan, a bartender originally from Salem, MA
Jay Sullivan
Craig Goldslager, a financial advisor from Boca Raton, FL
Craig Goldslager
Vinny Varadarajan, an engineering graduate from Fords, NJ (15-day champ: $75,000)
Vinny Varadarajan

This was the first time in awhile where I felt that someone actually took the game to Vinny a bit. If I were Jay, I might have been much more aggressive on the Daily Doubles, but it worked for him! Craig just got stuck in between two buzz-saws today! Things were much closer to being a lock for Jay before the judges ruled against Jay’s pronunciation of Gabrielle Reece!

Scores going into Final Jeopardy:
Jay 18,000 (20 right, including 2 DDs; 2 wrong. 16,000 Coryat)
Vinny 12,500 (18 right, including 1 DD; 1 wrong. 11,750 Coryat)
Craig 2,750 (5 right, 2 wrong. 2,750 Coryat)

Final Jeopardy! category: BOXERS

Final Jeopardy! clue: He died aged 99 in 2005 but cheated death at age 31 when he canceled his ticket on the Hindenburg to get to the U.S. quicker

Jay 18000 + 7001 = 25001 (1-day champ: $5,000)

Congratulations, Jay, on dethroning Vinny! He’ll be back next week!
