J! round categories: GEOGRAPHIC SAINTS; ’60s SITCOMS; I DID IT!; TREATIES; KING, QUEEN OR JACK; CROSSWORD CLUES “S”
DJ! round categories: RUSSIAN WRITERS; THE WINTER OLYMPICS; FOOD ACROSS AMERICA; BLOODSUCKERS; SECRETARIES OF STATE; “HOME” DEPOT
This was a Monday game, and Ken hadn’t quite picked up his buzzer mojo. In fact, of the 57 non-Daily Double clues, Ken only got in first on the buzzer 22 times; the lowest total of his entire original run on the show. If there was a chance to beat him, it was this game!
Ken went 4/5 in I DID IT! & RUSSIAN WRITERS and 3/5 in TREATIES & KING, QUEEN OR JACK over the game. Clinton went 4/5 in ’60s SITCOMS. Josh went 4/5 in THE WINTER OLYMPICS and 3/5 in CROSSWORD CLUES “S”. That being said, Ken did not take a neg the entire game!
Amusingly, Ken called for BLOODSUCKERS by saying “Well, my dad’s a lawyer…”
Unfortunately, Josh and Clinton failed to take advantage of the opportunity that was presented to them, both challengers going 0/1 on Daily Doubles.
Josh’s: CROSSWORD CLUES “S” $800 (for $1,000): “Baby” bird (5) (What is stork? Josh had no response)
Clinton’s: SECRETARIES OF STATE $1200 (for $1,800): Dwight Eisenhower & JFK both attended the 1962 dedication of the airport named for him (Who is John Foster Dulles? Clinton went for Laguardia)
Scores going into Final Jeopardy:
Ken $24,800
Josh $8,400
Clinton $1,800
Final Jeopardy! category: WORDS & PHRASES
Final Jeopardy! clue: Once slang for brain, this 2-word phrase now means the Heritage Foundation or the Brookings Institution
What is think tank?
Clinton 1800 + 1799 = 3599
Josh 8400 + 4799 = 13199
Ken 24800 + 5200 = 30000 (4-day total: $126,201)
