Time for another week of Sports Jeopardy!
You can watch this game on Crackle!
Today’s contestants:
Ian Hopton, a transportation manager from Long Beach, CA![]() |
Tony Hughes, a podcast host from Anaheim, CA![]() |
Roderick Crabbe, an insurance agent from Ponte Vedra, FL (1-day total: $5,000)![]() |
Final Jeopardy! category: OLYMPIC BASKETBALL
Final Jeopardy! clue: Both 35, the 2 oldest gold medalists on a U.S. men’s basketball team were Larry Bird in 1992 & him in 2008
Who is Jason Kidd?
Was this ever a game of momentum! Roderick started out picking up the first eight clues (two of them off rebounds by Tony) to build a lead early on. The turning point came when Roderick failed to form a Daily Double response in the form of a question early in Double Jeopardy. After the second Daily Double, Tony picked up 8 of the final 11 clues himself to nearly lock the game up before Final, but Roderick got the final 2,000 point clue to at least give himself a shot on the final clue. Meanwhile, Ian just couldn’t get any buzzer momentum at all.

I calculated Roderick’s Coryat for today’s game as 13,250.
So… did I. I think I’m coming down with something. I’ve made a few mistakes today. Sorry about that and thank-you for the correction.
Kicking myself for that blunder on the Ernie Banks answer. Got a little too excited there! Couldn’t get the buzzer momentum back after that. Thanks for putting this up!
You’re welcome! (and congratulations on your victory, Roderick!)
Roderick: Do you have information about more games for Season 3? Do you know if a game was taped after your appearance in Ep. 12?
Andy: With Roderick’s post do you have access to his email to contact him directly to see if he has any insider information he can share?
Tony and Roderick’s game was the last show of that taping session (I was still there for the show). I know there was initial talk of them doing recordings in November.
Interesting. As it stands now, it appears as though they did not tape any episodes in November. I wonder how long this hiatus is going to last for.
Earl, good to see you on here! You were a great champion, but an even better guy! It was a pleasure getting to meet you on the show. Have a Merry Christma!!
