Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:
This weekend’s encore presentation of Jeopardy! continues the run of champions that we saw from March through May 2025; we continue on from last week with Mike Dawson’s third game. For the Saturday/Sunday game this week, he faces off against Anise K. Strong-Morse and Joe Lancour. Incredibly, if Mike does end of getting one of the spots in the Tournament of Champions, we will have had 38 consecutive regular play games with a Tournament of Champions player in it.
One thing that I found interesting in hindsight is a brief editorial thought I made the day of this game’s initial airing: I had commented again that I thought that 9:00 was a poor time for primetime Jeopardy!; it was refreshing to later hear that Michael Davies had the same thoughts that I did on this matter, that 8:00 was a much better time slot for the show’s audience.
Tomorrow will also see an “editorial” post from me, but I’d say it’s probably more statistical than editorial; I’ll be going over the most likely candidates to be called in for Champions Wildcard.

Today’s Final Jeopardy for Saturday, October 25 (and Sunday, October 26) deals with the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In the early 1950s, a Walk of Fame with “stars” embedded in the sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard was proposed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. As a proof of concept, in 1958 eight stars were chosen at random to be placed on Hollywood Blvd. at Highland Ave.: Olive Borden, Ronald Colman, Louise Fazenda, Preston Foster, Burt Lancaster, Edward Sedgwick, Ernest Torrence, and Joanne Woodward.
24 ceremonies a year currently take place; I would say that the most common spot for Jeopardy! fans to trek to is 6501 Hollywood Blvd., as the late Alex Trebek’s star can be found there.

Game Recap:
Joe was keeping pretty close to Mike through 30 clues and would have led at the second break had it not been for an incorrect response on DD1. Joe then found DD3 within striking distance of the lead, but losing $6,000 on a clue about The National Road led to Mike cruising to a runaway.
Final Jeopardy ended up being a triple-get in this one, with Mike picking up another $5,000 for a 3-day total of $57,000; next weekend we’ll see him attempt to get win #4 against Courtney Martin and Andrew Hayes.
Scores going into Final:
Mike $16,400
Anise $2,900
Joe $1,800
Tonight’s results:
Joe $1,800 + $1,800 = $3,600 (What is Hollywood Boulevard? <3 Avian Kailie)
Anise $2,900 + $707 = $3,607 (What is Hollywood Blvd? Thanks Robbie, Katherine)
Mike $16,400 + $5,000 = $21,400 (What is Hollywood Boulevard?) (3-day total: $57,000)
