    Miscellany:

    • At $20,000 apiece going into Final, that was the highest-scoring tie game going into Final Jeopardy of any game that is currently in J! Archive. The previous high was $18,600 on December 15, 2011.

Could have had our first tiebreaker this game.

I don’t understand why Elisabeth only wagered $5,000. It sounded like she was banking on Brandon and Pat to miss Final.

  4. What a great game and what a turn on Final! Congrats, Brandon! Knowing from JBoard that he had made the College auditions before getting The Call in regular play, and thus knowing what a big fan of the show he is, I would’ve been truly shocked had any number other than $9,201 appeared below his response.

Two clues that I especially smiled at: Places In Continents $800 (since I watched in Edmonton, Alberta’s capital) and I’ve Got 3 Names $400 (since I’ll be in Bell’s final resting place of Baddeck, Nova Scotia, on Wednesday).

Final was opaque to me for ten seconds until I stopped thinking about actresses in The Godfather and expanded to the film more generally, at which point the correct response snapped into focus. Would’ve been embarrassing had I missed it, as Francis Ford Coppola is the most well known alumnus of my alma mater, Hofstra University.

I thought ties were no longer allowed after November 7, 2014.
