What is K?
George Eastman, founder of the Eastman Kodak Company, devised the name Kodak. He said:
“I devised the name myself. The letter ‘K’ had been a favorite with me — it seems a strong, incisive sort of letter. It became a question of trying out a great number of combinations of letters that made words starting and ending with ‘K.’ The word ‘Kodak’ is the result.”
Of course, the brand Kodak has become synonymous with photography and film for over a century.

if you know who eastman was, then this was a gimme. am not surprised about the 3/3. second runaway, nice haul, congratulations Anand!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!!!!
I want Anand in this ToC, but then again I don’t want him to lose too soon.
Given that the ToC spoilers are already on the Jeopardy! website, it may look like we may see him in the next ToC, should he continue.
still pending though, he just won 3 games. that might not be enough if there are plenty of 4 and 5 game winners for the next ToC. If he wins tomorrow as well that would be his 4th win and then he would be pretty much a shoo-in. But the way he plays-2 runaways in 3 games- i expect him to go even further than 4 games.
Anand would have to lose on Friday and earn more money than Jon to sneak into this ToC. This is like trying to analyze NFL playoff scenarios at the end of December.
Yeah, Anand will be in the next ToC if he makes it to Thanksgiving week.
yes, certainly. because it would be too late for this ToC, plus he would have won 16 games if he makes it to november 20,the monday of thanksgiving week, which is still almost 3 weeks away.
John:
The Tournament of Champions starts Monday and runs for 2 weeks. If Anand makes Thanksgiving week, he’ll be on 6 wins, not 16.
ok, I did not take the ToC “interruption” into account.
Anand is making the last qualifying week for the ToC interesting.
I just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you for your site I spent over 30 minutes just trying to find out what the answer no I mean Final Jeopardy question for the night tonight was because I am also a fan of the letter k considering my last name and wanted to find out what the question was and your site is great I will be sharing and so again thank you
I think Anand could beat Austin.
I’ve always been partial to the letter P because of its resemblance to favorite former girlfriend of mine…
