Correct response: What is Tombstone, Arizona?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
The famed Gunfight at the O.K. Corral took place the previous day, October 26, 1881, in Tombstone, Arizona. It was a gunfight with Tombstone police officers Virgil Earp, Morgan Earp, Wyatt Earp, and Doc Holliday on one side and Outlaw Cowboys Ike Clanton, Billy Clanton, Tom McLaury, Frank McLaury, and Billy Claiborne on the other. Two lawmen were wounded (with Holliday grazed), while both McLaurys and Billy Clanton was killed.
Surprisingly, the gunfight was not well known among Americans until an early-1930s biography of Wyatt Earp was published.

I’ve been to Tombstone, just not in 1881.
I’m a little surprised that FJ was a triple stumper – or maybe it’s because I recently rewatched part of the old Doctor Who four-parter “The Gunfighters” with William Hartnell on Retro TV. I didn’t remember the specific date mentioned on the show, but the 1881 in the clue seemed to be about the right time for Tombstone.
I was also surprised by how many people in territorial Arizona apparently had British accents. 🙂
Note that the Doctor Who version of the OK Corral was broadcast about 2.5 years before the Star Trek version.
I have a picture of me in Tombstone many years ago, long before people ran around with smartphones at the ready.
Has a Jeopardy contestant ever been introduced as a “housewife?” Perhaps in the first few years of the show? It seems as if players now prefer being called “stay-at-home moms (or dads).” Housewife sounds old-fashioned and from a bygone era, even archaic.

The photo accompanying the clue regarding the cathedral in Florence (Correct answer: What is Il Duomo?) was of the wrong church! They showed San Lorenzo instead of Santa Maria del Fiore.
I’ve long noticed that I seem to get more Triple Stumpers when the contestants are younger than me (6 yesterday,3 today). Is it possible to add their age, along with their job description and home state?
No, that is not possible.
Those of us of somewhat advanced age at the time of our Jeopardy appearance much appreciate Andy’s quick (and negative) response! 😊
