Correct response: What is reincarnation?
More information about Final Jeopardy:
A central tenet of many religions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhism, reincarnation is a belief that one’s non-physical essence begins a new life in a different body after one dies. In Buddhism, it’s believed to be an endless cycle of samsara which ends once a person attains nirvana (the destination after one follows the Noble Eightfold Path).

Unrelated to today’s game BUT related to today’s anniversary, who remembers the triple stumper final jeopardy clue from a few years back – “The 1970 follow-up line, ‘We’ve had a main B bus undervolt’ was addressed to a listener in this city.”
I just looked that one up and am now metaphorically slapping my forehead.
The NYTimes ran an online article earlier today with photographs and transcribed in-flight conversations between Apollo 13 and NASA Flight Control. Fascinating, and not just because I remember the flight when it happened. The quote above and the more famous quote that preceded it are included. Along with some humorous exchanges about filing income taxes on time.

Great win Tyler! Beni played a great game but it is what it is I guess.
Does anyone besides me think that the clue should have been “…made into flesh…” and not “…made in flesh…”?
Andy’s prediction this would likely be the highest Coryat opening round probably happened. A great Jeopardy round by Beni and overall, but Tyler kept competitive and close and pulled it out in FJ, just as he may also do in the Finals! Had he not, consistent Kayla would have surprised.
Great game, Beni led almost wire to wire but couldn’t close.
Tyler is beating all the people I like, thus I will be rooting for anyone ELSE in the final. Go Marshall on Wednesday!
Kayla’s third place Coryat of 13,000 is definitely one of the highest third place Coryat’s ever, if not. In James’s loss to Emma in which the all-time combined Coryat of 53,200 was set, third place Jay Sexton’s Coryat was a very respectable 11,000, higher than TOC finalist Francois Barcomb managed against them.
Beni’s sparkling personality will be missed!
I was really surprised that Beni – who got so many right – missed what seemed like a pretty easy FJ. I will miss his hair.
Andy, if Kayla had not had time to rewrite her response, but simply left the word “reincarnation” with a line through it, would she have received credit for a correct answer?
No; a crossed-out word is treated by the judges as though it does not exist.
