Welcome to another week of thoughts from the Editor’s Desk here at The Jeopardy! Fan.
RIP Claudia Perry
Many in the Jeopardy! world were shocked yesterday to learn of the passing of Claudia Perry. A favorite of many, including both viewers and program staff, Claudia was a 4-time champion in Season 13 who became a semifinalist in both the 1998 Tournament of Champions and Million Dollar Masters. Her last appearance on the show came in March 2014 in the Battle of the Decades.
The Jeopardy! Fan wishes to offer condolences to all of Claudia’s friends and family.

More On Celebrity Jeopardy Season 3
It appears as though Season 3 of Celebrity Jeopardy will be airing in the winter of 2025; it’s being listed as “midseason” on ABC’s schedule, and won’t be airing in the fall.
As I said on Twitter on Tuesday, I wouldn’t worry too much about this development; this gives production a buffer in case the Network Code half of SAG-AFTRA (or any of the IATSE locals) go on strike this summer.
It also seemed as though Celebrity Jeopardy did better in January last season; it would not surprise me if this scheduling was picked to capitalize on that.

On Jeopardy & Streaming
On a weekly basis now, I am seeing viewers complain about why the recent episodes don’t go up on some streaming service somewhere—usually YouTube is the place that is most often suggested.
For the last decade, I have been saying—until I am blue in the face, no less—that it is not financially viable for the show to do so; the loss of syndication revenue that would happen if the show routinely posted full episodes to its YouTube channel would not be recouped by any YouTube revenues from doing so.
And, as a site like YouTube pivots to its feature-cloned “Shorts” section in an attempt to become a TikTok clone, where YouTube revenues are cratering, and major creators appear to be posting goodbye videos on a daily basis, do these people actually believe that it is somehow more financially viable than it was even two or three years ago for episodes to end up on YouTube?
In Closing
Jeopardy! Masters is finishing up on Wednesday; have a great week!

Thanks for posting. She had also once been president of the Society for American Baseball Research. Sorry to hear this.
Commenters are reminded, that as per the Site Comment Policy, “Specifically inciting or encouraging episode piracy will result an immediate ban from the comments section.” This includes giving instructions on how to access pirated copies of episodes, as doing so runs the risk of having the website de-monetized.
While I will consider unbanning upon receipt of an emailed apology, it would be incumbent upon the banned user to take the initiative on this front.
