Warning: This page contains spoilers for the November 28, 2024, game of Jeopardy! — please do not scroll down if you wish to avoid being spoiled. Please note that the game airs as early as noon Eastern in some U.S. television markets.

Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category U.S. Businesses) for Thursday, November 28, 2024 (Season 41, Game 59):

In 2024 this company said only 4 of its 400+ locations will let Mr. Munch, Helen Henny, Jasper T. Jowls & its namesake still perform

(correct response beneath the contestants)

Today’s Jeopardy! contestants:

Laurel Day, a project manager originally from Austin, Texas
Laurel Day on Jeopardy!
Debbie Mercer, a retired special education teacher from Oak Park, Illinois
Debbie Mercer on Jeopardy!
Kevin Laskowski, an Episcopal priest from Falls Church, Virginia (3-day total: $52,999)
Kevin Laskowski on Jeopardy!

Andy’s Pregame Thoughts:

Happy Thanksgiving! The holiday this year sees Kevin Laskowski enter as a 3-day champion, hoping to take victory #4. Debbie Mercer and Laurel Day are your challengers.

Due to the holiday, today’s and tomorrow’s results will be posted mid-morning Eastern time, despite the game’s scheduled first airing coming earlier than this; this will allow for my regular visitors to have their usual morning routine changed as little as possible while still acknowledging the usual schedule changes that happen this time of year.

Another reminder that Matt Carberry has done his usual excellent job of detailing the schedule changes nationwide to today’s and tomorrow’s episodes. If you’re concerned about when the show will air for you today or tomorrow, make sure to check out his Google sheet!

(The following write-up is original content and is copyright 2024 The Jeopardy! Fan. It may not be copied without linked attribution back to this page.)

In 2018, Chuck E. Cheese began remodelling its stores, in what became known as the 2.0 Remodel Program. These remodels were controversial to fans of the chain due to its removal of the animatronic characters, especially those that were a part of Munch’s Make Believe Band. In response, Chuck E. Cheese corporate designated Northridge, CA, Hicksville, NY, Springfield, IL, and Charlotte, NC to be the four stores where the band could still perform.

I expect that this clue will play easier for those viewers with nostalgia of going to Chuck E. Cheese; while the chain does exist in Canada, I have never been to one myself—thus, I struggled significantly with this clue. But, that’s Jeopardy! sometimes.

Game Recap & Tonight’s Game Stats:

Looking to find out who won Jeopardy! today? Here’s the Thursday, November 28, 2024 Jeopardy! by the numbers, along with a recap:

Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: How Conventional; Life Science; 3-Word Phrases; Fun With Zip Codes; Sports-Pourri; Turkey Day)

Kevin and Laurel both struggled in the Life Science category, while Kevin also lost $1,000 on the game’s opening Daily Double. Debbie didn’t struggle, though, giving 4 correct responses to lead at the first break. After 15 clues, Debbie had $2,400 to Kevin’s $200 and Laurel’s $0.

Statistics at the first break (15 clues):

Debbie 4 correct 0 incorrect
Kevin 5 correct 2 incorrect
Laurel 2 correct 3 incorrect

Today’s interviews:

Laurel has seen lots of “lost media” that isn’t actually considered lost.
Debbie studied Russian in high school.
Kevin is taping on his 19th wedding anniversary.

The second half of the round saw Debbie struggle with incorrect responses as she dropped to second. Kevin led after 30 clues.

Statistics after the Jeopardy round:

Kevin 9 correct 2 incorrect
Debbie 7 correct 4 incorrect
Laurel 6 correct 5 incorrect

Scores after the Jeopardy! Round:

Kevin $3,400
Debbie $1,400
Laurel $600

Double Jeopardy! Round:

(Categories: Geography; Asian Literature; Do You Want To Build A Building?; A Real Smoke Show; A Project; -Ology)

The Daily Doubles were found early in the round by our challengers; they made conservative bets, though. Laurel demonstrated a great deal of knowledge, but incorrect responses kept Debbie and Kevin in the game, to the point that after 29 clues of the round, all three players were tied at $9,400. Laurel picked up a correct response on clue #30 to take the lead going into the game’s final clue. (That said, a scoring change gave Laurel an even bigger lead going into Final.)

Statistics after Double Jeopardy:

Laurel 18 correct 8 incorrect
Kevin 14 correct 3 incorrect
Debbie 16 correct 5 incorrect
Total number of unplayed clues this season: 12 (0 today).

Scores going into Final:

Laurel $14,600
Kevin $9,400
Debbie $9,400

All three players were correct in Final Jeopardy, and that makes Laurel the new Jeopardy champion. She’ll be back tomorrow to defend.

Tonight’s results:

Kevin $9,400 + $9,399 = $18,799 (What is Chuck E. Cheese?)
Debbie $9,400 + $5,202 = $14,602 (What is Chuck-E-Cheese?)
Laurel $14,600 + $4,201 = $18,801 (What is Chuck E Cheese?) (1-day total: $18,801)

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:

(Scores: Laurel $14,600 Kevin $9,400 Debbie $9,400)

Kevin: You should go all in here. You have to be correct to win, and you have the advantage in the tiebreaker for second, having held the lead over Debbie after the Jeopardy round. (Actual bet: $9,399)

Debbie: Being that you have to be correct to have a chance to win, the “Prisoner’s Dilemma” choice of $0 isn’t helpful here. Despite Kevin having the tiebreaker for second in his favor, I think the play is to go all in here and hope things break in your direction. (Actual bet: $5,202)

Laurel: Standard cover bet today is $4,201. (Actual bet: $4,201)

  1. I was too old for this clue. Next time ask me something about the original Mickey Mouse Club. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

    • LOL. I would remember some things about the original Mickey Mouse Club, but not a lot. I did realize (due to the time-frame that I had kids of the right age to like going there) that it was referring to Chuck E Cheese, but thought of it as Chuckie Cheese, so I don’t know whether that would have been accepted or not. However, I was only thinking that in my head, so if I had been there having to write it down, seeing what I was writing might have reminded me what it really was. On the other hand, they accepted Chuck-E-Cheese, so maybe they would have accepted another variation pronounced the same way.

    • I’m 60 and got this. Although I don’t remember much about the original Mickey Mouse Club show….except Tuesdays was for special guests, and I remember a few of their names.

  2. Clueless. Have never been to a Chuck E. Cheese.

  3. Wow, Chuck E. Cheese; I have not been inside one since 1980 when the one near me shut down—44 years ago!!! Now there is another one about 10 miles away, and I have never been inside that one. So many memories of their pizza and of their games.
    Happy Thanksgiving to everyone…

  4. I never have been to one of the correct response’s locations. Even at their peak, I was beyond their target market. Yet reading the clue answer on screen as Ken read it, I knew definitely the correct response would be “What is Chuck. E. Cheese?” To me the named characters suggested a cartoon band. Since I was sure that there was no animated band with characters like what were mentioned, that left “animatronic,” which might suggest Disney, but the said that the correct response had manymore locations than Disney. That lefy Chuck E. Cheese as the logicl response.
I’m thankful for this (seemingly) easy Finall Jepardy.

  5. I’m in my 60’s and have never been to Chuck E. Cheese, however I did get this correct.

  6. On the zip code clue involving Schenectady, 12345 is the zip code for General Electric

  7. Well, I said Bojangles! Having never been to a Bojangles. LOL I used to go to Chuck E. Cheese a lot in the early 1980’s to play video games (Pac Man master here….lol….til the 9th key) and didn’t care about the band. Then I never had kids, so that didn’t help me.

I’m close to the location in Northridge, CA.

0 for 4 for the week and 7 for 59 for the season.
