Andy’s Pre-Game Thoughts:
Our final game of the opening week of Series 2 of Jeopardy! UK features a pair of contestants from Hertfordshire: 2-day champion Sree Kanthamneni and challenger Harry Scully. Joining them is Abby Hallett of Berkshire. If one takes the £10,500 face value on the British board and converts it to the $54,000 on the American one, Sree’s £7,250 in winnings would be the equivalent of $37,286.

Final Jeopardy! wagering suggestions:
(Scores: Abby £3,375 Sree £2,450 Harry £1,825)
Sree: You can’t both cover Harry and win a Triple Stumper. If choosing to cover, you might as well go all in. Otherwise, bet £0 and hope for a tough Final. (Actual bet: £2,450)
Abby: Standard cover bet over Sree is £1,526. Don’t bet any more than this, as betting more might bring Harry back into better contention. (Actual bet: £1,550)
Harry: If Abby bets to cover Sree by £1, you have to be correct to win, so you might as well go all in. However, if she bets to cover by £25, a bet of £0 ties you. I don’t know what I’d do here, but I’d probably hope the £1 cover bet is made—thus forcing me all in to force Sree to cover. (Actual bet: £1,824)

Another successful guess on FJ! I enjoy these clues that allow the use of deductive reasoning. (And it made up a bit for my attempts to play along with the rest of the show, where I struggled again.)
A heads up for two weeks’ time by the way – Jeopardy! is not in the schedules for Thursday 3 April because of the Grand National horse racing meeting. I expect it won’t be on the day after either, for the same reason. Not sure how the scheduling goes after that.
My guess was Kenneth Branagh, just because he was the only British director I could think of. [Just glad to find out that he was at least nominated for two Best Director Oscars.]
Any “Best Director Oscar” FJ clue is complicated by the fact that it is not uncommon for someone to win Best Director and their film not win Best Motion Picture and vice versa, making it more difficult to remember which was which.
